I like the color purple, but I'm not painting my home that color. Kyle might like the color scheme of his building, but instead of painting his building that way, he should have painted a nice picture instead and hung it on the wall in his business. Why is it that the city is now drafting an ordinance that makes business owners conform to the other businesses? If it's my building then I should be able to paint it like the Partridge Family school bus? Or, purple with pink pok a dots? Absolutely not. Kyle talks about the property values being down in Streator then he goes and paints his building that way? Yes COMRADE! Yes, I agree - he is always trying to stir up something

Someone mentioned downtown Ottawa. I guarantee you that if one business went outside the "norm" and did his own thing in painting the way that this downtown Streator building was painted there would be a problem.
Ottawa officials see it, Streator officials see it (hence the "conform" ordinance they're drafting), I don't know why others don't.
There are thousands of other towns that have "conform" laws on the books. I guess they're wrong, too? I guess they have no business sense?

Kyle said that two problems with streator are the property values and the lack of vision.
Then kyle goes and paints his building the colors that he did. Anyone with business sense knows that effects property values adversely.
Then, when city officials show vision to prevent property values from being adversely effected by people who paint their building any color they want, kyle objects.
Kyle objects to the city's vision to help prevent property values from going lower.
Am I the only one shaking his head here?

What person with any business knowledge, could ever believe the downtown could be hurt anymore? The days of shoppers commencing at Jupiter and Woolworth stores, are over. Turn the empty shells into section 8 and the slum lords, will prosper.

After all your spawn will need places to live.

The City started talking about the restrictions before I painted, I don't believe they have taken any action since then unless they had one of their below the radar "special" meetings. Property values have gotten so low here, I don't see how any color can do any harm. I keep talking to people from the area that think it looks great and is increasing values. Are you worried that the vacant buildings are going to pack up and leave?

So, I trust you will never yell about the city's property values or the city's lack of vision again?

Not all buildings are vacant - some owners - although the building is vacant still maintain the building Kyle grow up - will you - why don't you pack your family up and just leave Enough is enough already

I'm NOT a Fan of the Baseball Wall of Fame I believe it is on the side of the Bar across the Street from Flips.
DOES that MEAN it needs to be painted over also?
Now I'll just sit back and watch.
This is going to get funnier than it is already.
Who has the Popcorn?
