There has been talk of creating aesthetic design restrictions for commercial buildings to create "continuity". Before I patched and painted the upper part of my west wall, it was on its way to blending in and have much continuity with many other buildings downtown. I could have just used a single, subtle, neutral earth tone, but I like color. I was wondering how others feel about the color issue. Theres no question there needs to be continuity. What's to stop the owner of a building from painting the building totally neon pink? We have to have laws on the books to stop normal business owners from owners who aren't all there. That's why law are created. To protect normal and sane people from idiots.

I love the creativity!!! Freedom to express yourself as a home owner or a business owner is your right. There are barns and sports figures painted on other businesses in this town. Ottawa and Pontiac have beautiful murals on their buildings. Art is art. I love it. Kyle is not an idiot for thinking out of the box. This city does not embrace or promote anything, unless they pay high dollars for it. They think a band shelter with red and blue police lights flashing non stop is beautiful. Kyle funded his art himself, unlike the city.
