I had never had fried green tomatoes until early this summer. We were at an oyster bar, and I ordered the crab cakes. They were served on a fried green tomato. And it was GOOD!

My goodness Helen, you know how to put tasty ideas into a chubby grannys mind, first thing in the morning!! Two of my favorite treats crab cakes & fried green tomatoes!! Both require skilled cooks, but oh my gracious few treats are tastier. But together has to be stupendous π

I am from down where fried green tomatoes started . I cant stand them at all even though I have been served plenty. I cant resist a nice firm red tomato morning, noon or night.

I just bought into the pantry the mosquito plants, the lemon tree and lime tree. Plus the Rose of Sharon tree. Due to the weather change. So a polite reminder to bring in those plants that can not handle the weather change. Streator FFA I am sure will have on sale, here soon, poinsettas(for Christmas).

This is the first year that no one thrusted a sack of tomatoes and cucumbers to me. I know my neighbor didn't have much of a garden this year. Was it a good year for gardens? (I forgot to go alley shopping.)

(I forgot to go alley shopping.) I think even my uncle who always has a good crop of everything was saying this year was not so good. He usually puts a table out front of his house for anyone that wants all the extra cucumbers and tomatoes and zucchinis and this year he only had it out twice he said.

I gave out a lot of green beans, tomatoes, and beets this year. The cucumbers were ate either by home made pickles or cut them up for part of a meal.

Fresh tomatoes and corn just taste so much better when they are fresh out of the garden. (Anybody's garden.)
