My tulips are confused they are starting to push their way through the top of the soil already.
I don't have a garden but have a small strawberry patch and sure like the fresh picked strawberries and the fresh strawberry milk shakes and Belgium Waffles. Yummmmm

Yummmmm I finally got a sm. bowl daily last year & I'm looking forward to enough to DO things w/this year! My tomato plants died last year & the strawberries "crept" around the corner taking up the empty spot. I'll have to train them to grow back where they're supposed to! btw, ty!

It has been a few years now sense you started your strawberry patch now. I am surprised they have not done better for you by now. The last few years the berries have been a little on the small side so this year I plan on getting them some nutrients and maybe that will help.

Blue, I heard you can take a soil sample out to FS (Farm Supply) and they will do a test for you and tell you what is lacking in your soil. I want to try that.

I think my yard lacks black dirt. it is mostly sand and clay now. I'd say in the area of your garden, take off the top (2) feet of that sand/clay and put a good black soil in place of it, otherwise you will not be able to grow anything dive.

I had an in ground pool installed last summer. there was only about 6 inches of black dirty on the surface and under that was clay and sand they had used for fill when my house was built I guess. I need to haul in about 3 yards of black top soil and spread it out.
