I may have to try freezing some corn this year. My Mom and Grandma always did and it was always better than from a can. She just used to boil it for about 6 mins., cut it off the ear and freeze it in a freezer bag. I know some people use butter or milk, but Mom just put the butter on when it was ready to eat, seemed fresher. Anyone else do it a little different, suggestions? that is how I do it too. I blanch it cool it and remove it from the cob in quart freezer bags.

Farmers Market/Ag day at the park was set up nicely, today. Seems like a nice crowd of people showed up for it.

I cut it off the ear, add butter, water, sugar and salt. Bring it to a boil. Let it cool. Then bag it. Lentman's last weekend is this weekend I think. We bought another dozen last night.

Cherry tomatoes and the Lemon Boys are tasting great! Made potato salad with the potatoes and the celery out of the garden also this past week. Also had cabbage and noodles once this past week with the cabbage out of the garden.

I LOVE blt's but I'm so sick of them already....same can be said of cukes and Lentmans corn ....I've ate so much of them I'm burnt out but have to keep trying to enjoy everything while I can....next thing you know it will be winter and no fresh vegetables

Its been a crazy busy year. Ive either been working or making something for bridal showrs, wedding, helping 2 daughters move, etc. Im lucky to get the grass mowed occasionally. And i have to stay on top of that, or my guy does it. And i hate seeing that happen. This has been a horrible year for him, with an excruciating amount of overtime. I only planted 2 tomato plants, a basil, rosemary, and dill this spring because i knew i wouldnt have time to cook, etc. But i did think I'd have time for an occassional salad and sandwich! Sheesh!
