my tomatoes have quit turning red since the heat has set in. I have plenty of green ones on the plants. That lone grape tomato is the only tomato of ours to turn red so far. Everything else is still green. lol I got 7 red tomatoes off my plant two weeks ago. nothing but green ones now and they are getting bigger.

We are being overrun with beans. I can't fit anymore in our freezer. Cucumbers are doing really well, too. I have made so many jars of pickles...good thing I like to keep busy in the kitchen because I'm usually found in there...canning.
Still no red tomatoes. Green peppers are doing ok. Some type of animal has been eating one green pepper plant, but he just eats on that one, so I am okay with it.
Our eggplants are producing very slowly. This is the first year we've planted those. Our cabbages did really well and we are a few days into the process of making sauerkraut. They are fermenting in the big crock right now.
Next year I plan on really shaking the garden up. No beans for sure. I'm over beans.

My Uncle plants a big garden every year and has more than they can us so every year he takes a card table and fills it with left overs out front of his house every morning.. He knows people are grateful for it and yes there are some that clean off the whole table at once with no concern for others.

Lentman Farms is selling sweet corn today, and all sales made today will be going to the Walter family. Kassidy Walter, a Woodland HS senior, was diagnosed with Lupus in 2014 and has recently been undergoing a lot of medical attention. All money today will go to the Walter's to help with medical bills. Corn is being sold at $4 a baker's dozen.

My neighbor just brought over zucchini bread. I'm not sure if it's fresh from the garden, but it is appreciated.

My tomatoes, basil, and rosemary are doing ok, despite major neglect leading up to, and over my daughters wedding. Then i spent the next week helping her pack, and this past week, i had my grandson with me all week. Im surprised they arent all dead! My flowers arent doing too shabby, either.

I may have to try freezing some corn this year. My Mom and Grandma always did and it was always better than from a can. She just used to boil it for about 6 mins., cut it off the ear and freeze it in a freezer bag. I know some people use butter or milk, but Mom just put the butter on when it was ready to eat, seemed fresher. Anyone else do it a little different, suggestions? I do the blanching system. The way you describe it, basicly.
