Legalize suicide. Problem solved. That way they don't have to suffer anymore. That's what all you are wanting. To let all people who are poor in poverty or homeless die and not save their lives Hell let's make murder legal to.

I would think OSF would be all over it. It's in between Ottawa and Pontiac. Run it on a smaller scale and send big things to the other two. I wouldn't. I think that they already get a decent portiion of business from Strestor and wouldn't think there would be much benefit for them to add the expenses of another location so close between their others. Wouldn't you think that they would have been in communication with their neighbors before hiring a firm to search nationally for a buyer? I hope that they do find a buyer, but am concerned that with our declining population and economy they may have a hard time selling. I do hope that our City leaders start doing things differently soon.

The Sisters of the Third Order refused! OSF went to Ottawa, instead! Look at St. James in Pontiac. One of the best hospitals in Illinois, affiliated w/ OSF Peoria!!!

Their billing system is either a nightmare or a joke. I've had the nightmare part the last two years. Don't get me started on the Drs. there.

what really scares me is what is in the paper today. according to the last 3 years of tax records the hospital has been barely keeping a profit. if the hospital doesn't get sold what happens next worries me.

Anybody who doesn't have insurance or money can walk into a hospital and get care. Then, the people who work pay the tab one way or another. What more could the less fortunate ask for

Although the criminal could not be punished in life, he or she could not be buried in a holy cemetery. That would really fix them.

There's the answer............. As more and more money losing patients come in, the ability to overcharge those with Insurance is less, and financial losses increase, causing them to cut services, and pull the death spiral tighter.. Don't bet on that Sniper. It's pretty lame when you go there for blood tests & you have to pay $225.00 for your share of ins. ie 20% of the bill, when you can get the same tests @ Streator Drugs for $50.00!!

Go to the hospital to pay your bill. That's how you avoid their billing system! For many years, we have been going to the University of Chicago for any and all medical problems. The doctors and nurses are world-class, but the "support structure" is not. Because the U of C is located in the get-toe, and because it is a liberal school, they feel compelled to hire people from the "neighborhood." After a few years of dealing with their billing practices, we decided to settle the cost for each visit right before we left.
