McDonald's will never close. Just like alcohol and cigarettes, no matter how much it costs people will still pay it. If they raise the wage to $15 an hour people currently employed there should worry though as many people will start to apply there and take their jobs. If it happens I will be applying. It's a $5 an hour raise from where I currently work. I will be applying, too, FOT. I figured, without the cost of CEU's, malpractice insurance, professional license, massive amounts of caffeine, support hose for being on ft for 12-16 hr shifts, yrly CPR class, TB test, etc etc etc, AND being able to walk to work, i would be making more than I currently do. The lowered stress level alone would be worth it. I already wait on people in a manner. People who are coughing, sneezing, vomiting, urinating and at times pooping all over. I think I could definitely handle anything that came up in a McDonald's. Lol. for $15/hr. I do worry what would happen to jobs like CNAs, who get less than $15/hr. Why would they ruin their backs while lifting 200# pts, and spend their shift wiping butts, for less money than someone who doesn't have to clean up body fluids every day?

I can see it now MM. A corporation making a profit will close its doors because it is told to pay higher wages. I think they would cut back hours of employees or lay off some before they would give up a profit. I also don't think that min wage will get to $15/hr anytime soon for fast food workers. Nah, that's where the Japanese and Chinese will start importing their newest robots to flip the burgers and serve you.......... Don't laugh, it is coming hard and fast. When that hits, those McDonald's workers are going to be remembering the $ 9.00 and hours days as the golden times.......

I have seen streator spawn that cannot count the correct change back from a$20. Thankfully md's has coin counter installed at the drive thru , the bill denomination aspect might trick most.

Cityslicker, if you think that's limited to the Streator area, then you don't get out of Streator often. Or Illinois, for that matter.

Maybe the new $500,000 bleachers will help them out to count change. What a waste of money, the teachers are probably angry, it wasn't spent on them. Now the teachers and taxpayers are duped.

The SEIU leadership has told the McDonalds' employees that they will get $15 an hour if they simply sign up for the union and pay dues. The same union has been telling employees in the hotel industry the same thing for years. Anyone who looks into this union will find that the union has not made a dent in the hotel industry, and that the major expenditures of the union in recent years have been devoted to turf battles within the union.

I cannot recall where it was while traveling, We went to a McDonalds and you ordered from a touch screen. They already have the model in place.
That would eliminate a lot of jobs.
Along those lines, Seattle already passed a $15 Min wage is finding that many restaurants are closing or relocating. Go figure.................
