And Joliet JC had terrific basketball teams. Tom Moran was a JC All-American there. His brother Jim was pretty darn good and taught at Ottawa HS. Now I've gotten it from trains to basketball. lol

Now I've gotten it from trains to basketball. lol When I was coaching, there was a young coach (Jerry Yost) who was an assistant football coach. He later became the head coach at Joliet and led them to a national championship. www.facebook.com/events/376034592763/www.highbeam.com/doc/1N1-130971D59A3BE588.html

But yeah, it's just me...Thank GOD it wasn't another tanker...The loss of life hasn't been determined yet, but just imagine... The trains going through town do NOTHING to benefit Streator, except for railroad $$$... Is it worth it?... www.foxnews.com/us/2015/05/12/amtrak-train-crashes-in-philadelphia-several-people-appear-to-be-injured/

Not too mention the damage it does to ones foundation when living close to tracks. The train have doubled since I moved here, otherwise I wouldn't have bought this house knowing that.

You're correct that the credits transfer. They just don't always count towards your degree. EVEN with working with a counselor at BOTH schools. Experienced it 3 times. With both SIU and ISU. at SIU, it added a semester, and ISU it took 2 extra semesters. There were no changes in majors, either. All 3 knew what their major was going to be, spoke to counselors at both schools, each semester, with their plan all mapped out. I guess it might not matter, if you're just getting a general bachelor, but those aren't going to get you far.

Congress has been starving AMTRAK for several decades. This really bad accident could eventually get heir minds right. I've been on this track several times. The trains from D.C to NYC are all electric and go upwards of 100 MPH. It was built by the Pennsylvania Railroad over 100 years ago. They have been patching it up ever since the AMTRAK took over in 1972.

Well now a deadly derailment. Seems this portion of tracks, has needed help for a long time. Do you have some evidence of this or is this HuffPo speculation? Those are some of the most heavily used and maintained tracks in the world. Not saying it is not a track issue, but from what is known at this time, and the description of the wreck, a wheel or truck issue is far more likely........... So, I am all ears, where do I find this track maintenance information?

1943 accident at this same place killed 79 injured 115. But that train was full up to 500 ppl. and broke an axil. My knee jerk reaction is speed at a curve. It was to go from 70 MPH to 50 at the curve. We shall see.....
