how low will it go is the real question everyone wants to know. OPEC will not curtail production until the price reaches 40.00 a barrel. there is already rumors the fracking companies and some of the gulf drilling rigs are shutting down till the prices rise. maybe a good time to buy some oil wells ?

Streator people rejoice! The city owns the cheapest gas prices in the state currently with most stations selling at $1.65 a gallon for unleaded gasoline (according to IllinoisGasPrices.com)

I didn't hear they were shutting down, but I did hear that they may be suspending new drilling.

new drilling is the first to shut down or slow before production slows.

your best bet is to drill in your backyard super. I hear there is lots of undiscovered underground oil deposits there.

These opec countries that are trying to put their competitors out of business are guarded by united states assets. They want to disrupt other countries economies and have the only game in town. The united states supplies air power and support if the saudi's enemies get to close or want to invade them. Why do we permit these camel jockies to destroy our oil shale progress out west? These prices are welcome now, but to stop exploration and renewable resources exploration, will not help future generations. It has often been said, that that n*gger in the white house, was funded by saudi regime.

Too bad they didn't offer a gas card where you could get them in gallons, rather than dollars. I would take the risk and speculate and buy a 2 or 300 gallon gas card to use at a future time. This would similar to the people who buy propane at a cheaper rate and then use it at a later date.

Can not remember where I read this at, but I read someone that the reason that the gas prices are dropping, is that this is a warning to us. That there may be more problems from other countries. Don't know if it's true or not but it could be a posiblity.

Don't know if it's true or not but it could be a posiblity. Nigeria, RUSSIA, Columbia and maybe Venezuela all rely way too much on oil sales to run their governments. Watch out, there may be some interesting political changes this year in those type countries. India and China will do lil happy dances w/ cheap fuel.

As much as people complain about OPEC, OPEC is responsible for the reduction in price/barrel. It hurts the communist countries and, as long as we have affordable oil, we will not be in such a hurry to explore deeper production of our own resources. Also, we are producing much more of our own already. The Dakotas and Western Kansas are pulling a lot out of the shale through fracking.
