Gas prices remain low but have been more steady as of recently. Triple-A in Chicago say crude oil prices are nearly $20 a barrel cheaper than this time last year, trading at just under $78 at the end of Tuesday. Gas prices in Streator remain to be the cheapest in the area, with most station reporting in at $2.65 a gallon for unleaded gas. Prices in Grand Ridge and Ottawa remain higher with most locations selling at $2.79 a gallon. Throughout the state, gas is averaging at $3.01 while the national average sits at $2.92.

Won't be happy until they do a roll back to Clintons presidential term when gas was $1.09 a gal,you can fill a 20 gal tank for just a little over $20.00 v.s. what we are paying now, which on average is $50.00 -$80.00 to fill the same size tank.

Of course, when they are higher everyone is talking about it.
Nice to acknowledged acknowledge a positive.

Gas went up. Depend which part of Streator, though. And it is still under three dollars per gallon. But I do not know if Streator is still the lowest around the area or not.

And could be even less if you shop at Krogers and receive that 10 cents off deal, depending on how much groceries a person buys at a time or month.

Jimmy had the right message. America did not want to believe it. With all the new oil here in the US, we are close to being independent again. We can also get cheap oil from our close neighbor Venezuela.

Mm, the PEOPLE have spoken. They WANT the huge trucks and SUVs. Look around you on the highways. More BIG trucks and SUVs than anything else on the roads. And most have one person in them.

I have been preaching that it is all about our ability to produce Batteries or Capacitors. We can get energy from a lot of sources. I think poeple are even working on a way to harness water waves to produce power.

While gas prices continue to drop throughout the state, Streator stations rose this week. Triple-A in Chicago says the demand for gasoline has remained low. Crude oil prices have also stayed around $75 a barrel for the past three weeks. In Streator, gas prices rose nearly 25 cents this week with most stations reporting at $2.87 for unleaded gas. Prices in Grand Ridge and Ottawa are slightly lower around $2.84. Throughout Illinois, the average price has fallen to $2.94 while the national average sits at $2.84.

Mm, the PEOPLE have spoken. They WANT the huge trucks and SUVs. Look around you on the highways. More BIG trucks and SUVs than anything else on the roads. And most have one person in them. Not "exactly' the case. We desire large vehicles, that is a given. To be honest, I sure as hell aren't going to be driving around in them puddle jumpers either. Now, as to the reason they are driving around in all those big trucks and SUV's? The GOVERNMENT legislated out any possibility of a car based platform that most of us will own. In their infinite wisdom, they made the situation worse. Bring back the Crown Vic with the new Ecoboost 2.7, or the Caprice with the DI 3.6, and you would see many more folks driving 30 plus MPG full sized cars........ And goodness, if they would get their head out of their arse, and roll pollution regs. on diesels back to 2006, you would have 40 MPG full sized, frame on cars that people actually wanted.
