You're welcome. My solution is the same as it was previously when I talked to you in person. Last time the liquor licenses came up, you were there to hear how I voted regarding them. That action should speak for itself. If anyone has anything to ask me regarding thoughts / opinions, they are welcome to do so on my Facebook page, by phone, by e-mail, or in person. I will not use this forum to do so, because it is not my personal political page.
why are you still chirping politics this morning?
Wow, you can talk. To answer your question, because I think that statement is nothing but BS since she does use this site for her personal politics and her bogus claim doesn't keep me from talking about what I believe in. Just because she and our other leaders don't want these problems talked about, doesn't make them not be problems. The horse is still very much alive.

I would like to see that bandstand being used more than what it is. In Wenona, during the summer, there is a small band that plays, every Friday, for two hours. I've have gone a couple of times. There was a nice conversation among friends, good snacks, and some dancing among a few people. It would be nice to see a set up like that. Maybe like on Fridays, have something for the middle age, Have the bluegrass group that uses the church across from the majestic theater building in the winter and have a bluegrass jam on Saturday and on Sunday have the churches. Just a thought.

Actually Kyle, you're wrong. She doesn't represent you or any other voter in particular. If that were the case, decisions would never be made. She is there to use her best judgement and vote for what she thinks is best for the community. There are two sides to every vote. Those for and those against. How does an elected official choose which side to represent? d**ned if they do, d**ned if they don't. I know, I live it in my position. The elected official makes the best decision for the entire community based on the information they have. And they do it for minimal or no money at all. Unfortunately I think you are right. I don't think that councilwoman sassypants and other members do represent the people of Streator. I think that makes it even more important for the public to know how they stand on issues such as the excessive bar violence here, particularly with an important election coming up in a few months. I hope that next year citizens vote for leaders who will be more open to talking about the issues and actually represent the people of Streator. I was reading this particular topic and came up with an observation: Kyle I think you really need to run for office. Your tactics at SO have become totally unproductive. You want voters to vote for new leaders who may share zero, one, two, or all of your goals. How do you promote someone who may be for one of your goals but not the others? You will end up with a split vote and the change you desire, wont happen. With all the mistrust you show, how do you know that they will actually stick to any promises they made during the campaign? From the responses you get here at SO from talking about these problems, it appears more are against your issues, than are for your issues. So you are hoping to change things by talking about problems that a few thousand citizens will have to change their minds about, to elect a person, or persons, in hope of creating a majority in the city council to have a chance to address the problems that you see. Wouldn't it be more prudent for you to run for office? We already know your stance on these issues, and if you got elected you would only have to, at the most, convince 2 council members to support you, rather than trying to convince a few thousand citizens to vote someone else in who might be able to support your issues. Utilize your right of speech here as much as you like, but in my opinion, you would be more successful putting your name on the ballot.

And not to sound cold. But we are slowly getting in new council people. And granted, not by having an election. But because the council people that we've had are having health issues and mother nature is calling. Hopeful we will see some good.

He won't run for any office. Quit thinking he will. He's just a pot strirrer and enjoys that role. He has no answers, none I've found productive or progressive for the community. He's just pissing in the wind, so to speak.

This event with a concert in the park is coming up on Saturday. We're looking forward to learning about ChicagoStyle Bluegrass. The HenHouseProwlers are the only Chicago bluegrass band I've listened to in recent months:-) The event sounds like it will be very pleasant!!
