Ours quit yesterday,but tv's not on converter box are fine. Same here. Supposedly a problem in the Streator/Ottawa/Marseilles area. According to Mediacom, they should have the issue resolved soon

Mediacom is experiencing a huge issue right now, and it's not just in Streator... My cable went out yesterday, I called and was told there was a glitch that occurred during their monthly maintenance updates... Currently, I have tv, internet, and phone...The only thing that isn't working is the Caller ID... The office here in town is being bombarded with angry customers, and I don't blame them a bit for being mad...This is a service that WE pay through the nose for, they raise rates at the drop of a hat, and clearly aren't providing the best on their end... I sure hope folks are demanding that their accounts are credited...

our cable box was out from yesterday at 4pm till early this morning. I called Mediacom and was told the problem was wide spread because of an update problem that was preformed yesterday. all the televisions that was connected to the cable worked but the digital boxes were down.

Just talked with a rep from Mediacom. They credited my account for one day of no service. She was very nice and there was no reason for me to be mad at her because as I told her, "I doubt I'm talking to the CEO of Mediacom so I won't take it out on you". She was honest and said they have no idea when the service will be back up and running. It does no good to b*tch at the people that answer the phone. They are as frustrated as we are. I just appreciate the professional way she talked to me.

Might have to unplug the box for 30 seconds so it can reset. Try that first.

When we loose our electric for a few hours, Com Ed does not give us credit.

Com ed charges based on how much you use. Media com charges a set amount based on one months worth of service. If the power is out, you aren't being charged because you aren't using power. If media com is out, you still pay for service for that day.

Oh I agree. CNN said yesterday that cable bills will go up as fast as Medical Insurance costs. By 2020, we will pay over $100 a month for just basic cable.

call them and they will send a technician out to check it. they can also do some basic stuff to it while you are on the phone too seaturtle.
