Why all the sour grapes towards the city, myself? You carry on like someone who made a business presentation to the city that was shot down. No, it wasn't shot down. It was given an extreme restriction that goes against our zoning ordinance. No sour grapes though, I'm just making sure that people know how they operate, in hopes that more ask for change. They gave your request an extreme restriction because they know how you operate.

Reading it is one thing, understanding it is quite another. Yes, in our last conversation you said that a special use permit should have been required. That is a far cry from the industrial zoning requirement that they gave. Obviously it is our city leaders that have a hard time understanding it. Maybe we need new City leaders.

It is nice to hear you admit that they did not follow our laws and that it is about the person. That is the Good Ol Boy Club mentality that convinces me that we do need new leaders.

I'm convinced they should all be re elected.

I also pointed out that the City doesn't have an industrial zoning classification and I was interested to see exactly what the City requested in its letter to you. As it stands now, I guess we just have to take your word for it.

Making up a restriction that goes against our laws is protecting the citizens? They feel that they know better than our written laws and that they don't have to follow them is a reason that you think they should be re-elected? Of course, I wouldn't expect that everyone would have the same views as I do, but it is hard for me to conceive that anyone would think that way. You should campaign for them at election time, "Re-elect the leaders that think they are above our laws". It would probably be just about as effective as your promotion of a financial investment business, insinuating that they would threaten someone's life. You are right Oldtimer, I'm not the solution, you are. Keep up the good work!

Myself, I for one am getting tired of your railroading every da*ded thread! Why can't you limit your whinning, over & over to the already existing threads YOU have started?

It was Oldtimer that turned this thread into talking about who is smart business owners, the city making everyone conform to standards that they won't even follow themselves, and my business proposal.
He obviously feels that he has a right to continue directing his attacks, insults, and name calling at me.
All I did in this thread, was provide people a little more of the truth about the funding of the fountain, when he started another one of his troll attacks.
Maybe if he wants to keep it up he should go back to the thread the HE started for that purpose, but then deleted posts and disappeared from.

Myself - I am ready to sign your petition for your city council candidacy run whenever you decide to run. I'll gather some of my law abiding, non-alcoholic, not afraid to shop downtown friends to sign right along with me.

Can't anybody, in any town, take unflattering pictures on the ALLEYS. When I vacation, I don't wander the alley ways taking pictures. This is about the fountain in the park that through the generosity of several donors, will be repaired/restored.

The side along Main Street doesn't look much better. When people drive down Main Street and see the front of this building, will they even want to get out of their cars to see the fountain in the park? The generosity of donors provided paint(neutral base) to help the appearance of that building, how long will it take now to be applied? If any of the other unflattering alley pictures are of buildings owned by people that are forcing others to do something about their buildings, fining them, and adding even more restrictions on them, while ignoring their own mess, I would be just as appalled.

The fountain is a part of our city's heritage. It should be preserved. Kudos to those who put their money where their mouth is.
