I didn't jump the gun, I was just giving my opinion in response to a comment about how much money is saved each day that the heat is left off. FOT liked that comment. I felt that liking that comment gave credibility to the heat being left off on purpose to save money. He is very opinionated on my talking about the negative things that go on outside my building, violence, and what a good citizen would do, but wouldn't comment here to clear up a misconception. It's amazing how you try to twist things to fit your agenda. You would know about trying to "twist" things around. I don't see where anything has been "twisted".

I did not like any comment on here. If I did it was by accident as I was scrolling through on my phone. By the time I saw this thread it was already starting to run wild. I made a simple phone call and found out that the buildings were fine temperature wise. 1 person makes a comment on Facebook that made it look like the whole school was cold. Would my comment have made a difference? Do people really think we would sacrifice the well being of kids to save a couple dollars on heat? This is why I avoided answering. You liked that post days ago, but didn't even know that you were on this thread? You also liked another post that was against letting people know about the problem. People were talking in support of not providing heat. You didn't speak up to let people know that our schools are more concerned with a good learning environment than saving a few dollars. However, you have no problem posting to discredit me and justify the negative activities that continue to go on downtown.

Oh yes, my terrible agenda of not wanting people to continue to be served to the point of passing out, fighting, pulling their pants down, etc. Yes, I do wish that our school board member was as passionate about providing a good learning environment for our kids as he is in defending his buddy's ability to continue over-serving.

The school board would just rationalize the lack of heating like you rationalizd the closing of schools and the cutting of staff. As if you were looking after the "well being" of the staff and students of this district when you shut down a school... cut staff and staff hours, and stripped many of their health insurance...while cramming 800 kids into that insane asylum called Northlawn.Do yourself a favor and don't post on SOL anymore. It's a no-win situation for you to express yourself here.

Where did I say that I didn't know I was on this thread? On my phone, as I scroll down a thread reading my finger may hit the like button or the options button. Happens a lot.

You liked the post when there were only three. Your like on it is what made me post my opinions just five hours after the thread was started. By the time I saw this thread it was already starting to run wild. This thread certainly wasn't running wild at that point. You could have let people know that our schools are concerned more about a good learning environment than saving a little money. It is a shame that you are so easily able to like comments supporting the opposite without even knowing it.

Even if you "liked" this post by Jules, most rational people would have realized you were liking the majority of the post. I am sure people with some common sense would know that you or anyone else is not advocating allowing the children to freeze in order to save money. Like others have said it wasnt that cold. Here is the post that you "liked". "It's not that cold out. How many kids go outside to play in this weather with just light jackets on? It sure doesn't seem to bother them then. And parents and adults are the first to cry that little jonnie's not getting all the comforts he deserves. Boo hoo. Give me a break. For every day the schools keep the heat off when it's not that cold, think how much money is being saved."

And I wasn't suggesting that the schools were purposely keeping the heat off to save money. Nor was I suggesting they should. What I was saying was since it's not very cold out, money is not being wasted if the heat was not turned on just yet. And no, I'm also not suggesting that kids freeze to death due to no heat. In my opinion, it just wasn't that big of a deal at this point in the season.

Seems like a lot of nonsense arguing about something that didn't happen.

With the dropping enrollment and closing of schools, they probably have a lot of extras.
Cutting extra curricular activities could drop enrollment even further.
They might as well burn them to save a few dollars on the gas bill.
