Yesterday our big cat Moses "Moe" was no where to be found., which was quite unusual for him as he didn't stray at all from home. We searched and searched for him...but to no avail we couldn't find him anywhere.
Today one of my neighbors came over here to tell me as we were outside yelling and again in search of Moe, that he had witnessed two dogs, one black lab and one golden retriever that had attacked poor Moe in our driveway. I guess Moe had been sun bathing, as he loved to do up front around our oak tree. The neighbor guy at least tried to chase off the dogs down the street, but when he ran after these dogs our cat just disappeared. He then informed us that these two dogs literally mauled poor Moe.
My daughter and grand daughter just left here after helping us search for Moe, which she'd already got in touch with the vets that she works at to see if any good Samaritan had hopefully found him wounded and taken him into the vet to be cared for. To NO avail............ we found him dead out in our carriage house. We just buried him.................. as we were all bawling our eyes out.
This IS to anyone who happens to know of this irresponsible dog owner who owns either a black lab or a golden retriever...or BOTH from around the 300 block of South Monroe Street....so help me GOD if either of those dogs are ever spotted by me in this yard......consider them DEAD!
WHAT the HELL kind of owner has any kind of supposedly I guess by what has now happened....... vicious dogs. I am SHOCKED that it was either of these breeds that would have done this, this was not any pit bull. Labs and goldens for the most part are some of the more docile breed of dogs.......which confuses the hell out of me.
THANK God, and I say that quite loosely that it was our cat...and NOT SOME CHILD!!! Something HAS to be done about these dogs in this town being allowed to run at large with no consequences to these so-called owners.
I was attacked and charged at when I left my house to walk my little 8 lb. dog by two loose German shepards a couple of weeks ago......and they really did charge at me in attack mode with a vengeance. Thank God that my next door neighbor had been out on her porch and I was then able to pick up my dog and run into her house to avoid being attacked. BOTH of these dogs meant business and literally came clear up onto my neighbors porch after me.
Animal Control was called and thank you so much for being on the job, which the officer did show up very quickly. I knew the house where these two shepards were from, and this was NOT the first time that they have gone after me and my little dog either. The first time it was just one of them that charged after me, which I was then able to pick my little dog up and yell enough at the one to get away from us. THIS so - called owner wasn't aware of the fact that dogs have to be chained and or leashed in town here, what the HELL!!!
A couple of weeks ago as my husband and I were getting into his truck .....sure enough here comes two pit bulls running towards us. I chucked my little dog at my husband into the truck, and ran around the other side to jump in...thank God my husband was sitting with the door opened on his side waiting for me. He is disabled and would have never been able to get into his truck fast enough, nor run if needed to either.
Another incident where a woman that I know was attacked and her little dog over on Riverside...was not a good outcome either! Her dog ended up with the blunt of the attack which they almost killed her poor little Charlie. He was rushed to the vets where they were able to save him. They do know where these dogs that attacked them are from, and I seriously think that these irresponsible owners should in-turn have to PAY this hefty vet bill! Of course there is no recourse of action though.
THIS just makes me sick to loose our poor cat Moe to an attack like this. I just hope that he didn't end up suffering.
Rest in peace....... King Moe.............
IT's HIGH TIME that these irresponsible dog owners get held accountable!
