Kyle, it is simple, you need a HUGE red beacon on the top of your building.
That way, you can just turn it on and summon the police ( or perhaps Batman?).
Or at the very least, a couple of 10 or 20 million candlepower spotlights pointed down into the alley.
Roaches hate the light............
On edit: Perhaps you should check with the city though, they might have an ordinance against harassing drunk, belligerent people.

LOL ^^^........SNIPER!!! For some reason I can just envision this, thank you for this visual here....because we laid in bed last night and did hear all of the calls being made, and many by KYLE. Granted I am in no way favorable for any of these types of situations that were unfolding uptown such as those last night....all kidding aside with SNIPER'S comical post. That is one of the reasons that we don't ever venture uptown at all of a night any more. The SPD got their tails ran off by these idiots that can NOT behave, which is totally ridiculous! Something was awry in the air or something...because it just wasn't uptown with the bar scene, it was ALL over with teenagers and adults alike.......WTH?!?! Scary fact is that it's next weekend that IS the full moon...oh joy, get ready KYLE for yet another sleepless weekend.....I think that you should really light up everything surrounding your building, and get one of the fire departments hoses aimed at these idiots........to spray them down!!! Some people have been saying that Streator needs a hotel. I always though it would be cool if this building were turned into one. However, who would open a hotel in an area that routinely has so many over-served, staggering, passing out, open container carrying and smashing, exposing, urinating, fighting, and mugging bar customers? Unfortunately, the people who make decisions on where to invest in their hotels have... Say it with me Oldtimer... More Business Sense than Kyle!

I thought I'd share some photos with everyone. Here is our poor mugging victim, half passed out, crying as he lays on my neighbors brand new air conditioner: Sorry the quality isn't the best, but here are the two guys and girl down the alley deciding to come back and mug him after they saw that he fell on the ground and was not moving: Here is one of the muggers with his open container, watching his friend try to roll over the poor lifeless victim: Having rolled him over, here is the other mugger bent over as he is emptying the poor victims pockets: Go ahead have another one, as long as you have some money left in your pocket, we aren't done serving you.

Kyle you know you try filing a Lawsuit on your Behalf against the City alleging their NON ENFORCEMENT of the Liquor Laws are causing you to Lose your Quality of Life. Do it in Federal Court get the ATF involved as they might be Very INTERESTED as to what is going on here in town.

Go find yourself a town that contains no bars or issue's . Oh maybe a call to police or ambulance would come to mind but oh no could not do that could you. I did call our understaffed police department. When they showed up though, the fight in front of Carbo's demanded their attention, but I don't think they even got a chance to show the community that indeed there are consequences for fighting on Main St. before they went speeding off, probably to another serious crime. We might even have to lose more officers to attrition to be able to make the loan payments on our park improvements. I've noticed that all four vehicles usually seem to arrive and leave together and they don't seem to even use the back seats. Maybe if they all just car pooled, we could use the savings on gas to buy another fountain for one of our other parks? Those improvements could bring even more employers and affluent people here to get mugged. You are right though, I was remiss in not calling an ambulance for the staggering drunk so that he did have a safe ride home. I'm sure he probably found a bar employee to help him get behind the wheel and get his seat belt on though.

I wish I would have had my video camera ready yesterday to catch the poor victim's face when I yelled out the window, "What are you looking for, a phone and a wallet?"
His face lit up like a little boy on Christmas morning.
It was priceless.

Come on now City Slicker, we really can't be blaming SPD for this.
We could not seriously expect our understaffed police department to mop up all of the messes created across our downtown area by more than one liquor license holder.
It is our City Council members, who are our Liquor Commissioners, who are our only elected officials, who we need to put the responsibility on.

I would imagine there are quite a few people waiting for me to post some video from Saturday night.
I'm sure there will be some coming.
I've just been so busy that I haven't even downloaded it from the DVR to look at it yet.
I have been working on a project with Oldtimer.
In case you haven't read the other thread, he has me going around downtown asking building and business owners what they think of may paint job to see how many death threats I get.
Then we are going to go buy some paint to present to the owners of a deplorable building downtown at the council meeting to try to improve the image of downtown a little.

Hey Kyle, you know I was admiring the sunset the other night, and noticing how beautiful the trees were silhouetted in black got me to thinking. You could add some trees to your sunset paint and it would not only make it look even cooler, then there would be no mistaking it for art, and since art is protected by the first amendment ( even have SC case law to back you ), then it adds a whole new dimension of fun.
Since you came from out West, Cactus could be substituted for Trees.........
Just a thought.
Subversively yours, Sniper

Thanks Sniper, I was actually thinking of adding to it.
It wouldn't be until next year though, I've got a lot to do now.
I was going to keep it a secret until then, but now people's minds can run wild with the possibilities.

Yes, the video from Saturday night will take a little time to download, edit, and get ready for release, but the letter to the newspaper won't take much time at all.
A little bit of copy and paste from my comments here and it should be just about ready.
I bet SACCI and our tourism commission love me.
I don't see too many other people promoting our oldest, biggest, and most important industry here(according to some).
As more & more people who want to drink themselves into oblivion find out how accepting of it we are here, they may start coming(since so many decent people don't want to).
Streator - A Quiet Surprise on the Prairie
Quiet enough you can pass out anywhere, the surprise is you could wake up without your wallet and phone.
Anyway, I'll wait until after Wednesday's council meeting to send it off to the newspaper, in case they have anything to say about the situation to change my mind.
Most other times I have talked to them about these problems, their response has been none, which equals both the amount of action I have seen them take to correct the problems and the amount of results I see.
Maybe they will have an idea for a solution now.
If they have no response, I can only assume it will again lead to no results.

Well, I was just reading the paper. Maybe someone at the paper made a mistake and left out the report of crimes they received from SPD?
I'm sure they can't say the mugging is still under investigation. After calling in the incident, I called back to tell the dispatcher that I wanted to speak to the responding officer, but never heard back from anyone. I think the investigation ended the minute I hung up the phone.
Does anyone think this mugging will show up in our crime statistics (made up numbers)?
I sent the paper an email to see what's up.
