No, what I said is they can lie if they choose to do so. It's their choice. If they get caught it's on them. I personally don't see the big deal with giving the info. Is it worth it to lie? It's $15 and a picture with some other info for a pet that most treat like family. There's a difference between can lie and should lie. I hope you don't take my comment put of context. The way some are complaining I through that out there to them.

I'm not understanding what the big deal is?? Is it the fact that they are going door to door? If so, go to city hall...take your own picture and fill out the registration form.....
If you feel things aren't being run right....contact the mayor...he ccepts phone calls ....and get a hold of a city council member.....speak up....
I think, since I do deal with dogs so much....the pics are a good idea....and the city tag has always been.in effect ..... JUST NEVER INFORCED

Martial law has been in affect for many many years...... so yes they can barge in anytime they see fit I'm afraid familyman, this may come to a surprise to most of you, but.. we have really no rights at all anymore. Some of you might want to argue that because they are in denial, however it is what it is.

Lovinit....yes, for me, it's the going door to door. I TOTALLY agree with having dogs registered. To me, I just don't understand why they don't put it in the paper that registering your dog will now be enforced. If you are caught without your dog being registered, you get a fine. Make it a big fine...I don't care. Why the door to door? It gives me a real uneasy feeling. I feel there is a hidden adgenda somewhere.

I personally believe its a waste of time and money..... I agree...send every household the questionnaire and request it back with a pic of your dog.....house to house is unsafe.....along with a lot of precious hours that ACO will waste seeing as to how they don't have many........

It has already been determined in other states and counties, it is a waste of time and money. And Streator does not have money to waste.

I don't own a dog, so I'm not familiar with how this works. If I understand correctly, when you take your dog to get a rabies shot, it is given a county tag at that time? And with that county tag, the address of the dog is recorded?
This door to door search seems like a waste of resources and an unnecessary invasion of privacy, but it seems to me the city tag is also redundant. Could someone explain why a city tag is necessary in addition to the county tag that comes with the rabies shot?

I don't belittle the ACO for doing what they are told but I have to ask.....whose bright idea was this "door to door" thing?
