How do any of you people able to look at yourselves Knowing with the budget cuts coming July 1st could close down Facilities that serve disabled people. Like for example places like streator unlimited, friend ship, futures unlimited. Horizon house.ect. Where and what will happen to these people if they lose services To gain community employment? Without these services these people Would not be able to survive. They already. Are seeing there ssi and disability getting cut by 20% There Med card and link also being cut. That's Rauner's fault, not ours. All of you who elected him - this is what happens. Heck, he's got tons of money, right? Let him cover some of the shortfall. Put his money where his mouth is. Probably the most foolish comment ever posted on here.

Snarko, I'm guessing you're getting some state assistance? If not, perhaps you'd like to help Rauner make up the budget shortfall with more of your earnings? I'm in favor of the cuts. If you don't want the cuts and you have the money then help out. Put your money where your mouth is snarko

snarks, you can blame the dumbacrats for the budget shortfall. The puppet from LaSalle Peru is one worst, he is a yes man for mikey and has his nose stuck up hisassso far, he has oxygen pumped into his ears to resuscitate. The dumbacrats want to TAX and SPEND. They want the illegal aliens, n*ggers, and deadbeats to vote for them. These people do nothing but bring down the state's economy. The taxpayer for the most part, is tired of giving n*ggers, illegal aliens and deadbeats food, lodging, phones, and Polar Pops? Give them the basics and let them fend for themselves. They pay little if any taxes and bring more problems into the world by breeding, multiplying and mooching. What political party would allow an illegal alien to get a state drivers license? The give away is for votes. Don't you get it snarks?

Rauner cuts spending from already-approved projects July 1, 2015 Local Headlines | Leave a reply SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Gov. Bruce Rauner has cut $68 million in already-funded road construction or other bricks-and-mortar projects.
The cuts came on the eve of a new fiscal year set to begin without a budget agreement between the Republican governor and the Democratic-controlled General Assembly.
The cuts include $50 million for further renovation of the 1868 state Capitol and $5 million for the long-discussed but delayed airport in south suburban Chicago.
Rauner has rebuffed discussion with Democrats on a fiscal 2016 budget because he wants fundamental business and political changes first.
The governor approved most of the re-appropriated money. He says investment in the state’s infrastructure “is critical to economic development.” But he made the cuts to ensure “limited taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.”

There is not enough money coming in! Write that on the blackboard 100 times to get it through your thick head, little Billy! Some good news...

Trouble is For Mad Mike this time Rauner has the MONEY BALLS and the GUTS to flat out EXPOSE MADIGAN for the GOON and Mob BOSS he is. He will Break the Machine and Love Doing it. I have a cousin that lives in Schamburg die in the wool Democrat he NEVER knew about Mike Madigans Property Tax Abatement Law Firm UNTIL THIS YEAR. He did not know about him being in total control of the Cook County IL Democratic Parties. He just changed his Party over to Republican. This man in 2008 2012 Donated to Obama the Max Allowed had his PICTURE taken with the President both Years. In 2009 went to the Inauguration of Obama in DC as a Guest of the IL Democratic Party. People in IL are WAKING up now that King Madigan has been EXPOSED and they are NOT HAPPY about how he has RUN the State.

Rocket, it is easy. We are dying ourselves............. There is no free lunch. We DON'T have any more money to appropriate. Where do you cut? Where? You're NOT "dying" and neither is anybody else. Nobody will be affected too much if the needed revenue comes from a relatively tiny amount of tax being put on goods and services currently untaxed. Regardless of your stand against raising revenue towards taxes and your justifiable anger towards politicians, the pension system is here to stay and our lack of money to run the state is here to stay unless we raise revenues. Many, many programs critical to our disadvantaged, our poor, our disabled, including programs benefiting our children and elderly will be and are being gutted as I type. Our school system's funding issues were critical before Illinois' Crash...NOW? Fuggetaboutit.... Cuts are inappropriate in many areas. Cuts aren't the answer.

BB the Last Tax Increase of 67% on Income alone brought in 32 BILLION over 4 Years. JUST WHERE IN HADES did Mad Mike Cullerton and Quinn SQUANDER that kind of Cheddar. From what I saw NOT ON SCHOOLS THE PENSIONS THE BACKLOG OF BILLS NOT ONE THING IT WAS SUPPOSED TO GO FOR. It had to have gone into EARMARKED SPENDING OR RAISES FOR THE UNION WORKERS AT THE STATE OR Maybe a Automatic Apple Polisher for Mike Madigan maybe. Sure as HELL DID NOT GO FOR THE PEOPLE THAT NEEDED IT LIKE THE DISABLED OR THE ELDERLY. Yet here we are less than 7 months after they let it Sunset onto the Back of a NEW GOP Governor and they are NOW trying to Blame HIM for being to EXTREME HELLO MADIGAN you and YOU ALONE where the one that tried to pass a Budget that was 4 BILLION Short Lasts years BUDGET was 1.6 BILLION SHORT and your Screaming that the Governor has the BALLS to Get in YOUR FACE AND TELL YOU NO to trying YOUR TRICKS. Sorry BB butt the Democrats Screwed this State OVER for about the Last 12 Years so freaking Bad that even a Nigerian Bond has a Better Rating than IL does. IL leads the Nation in People FLEEING their State for Better Conditions we have the 2nd Highest Property Taxes in the Nation 2nd only to New Jersey 1st in Sheer Government UNITS at close to 7,000 Taxing Bodies State Wide Texas 5 times the Land Mass barely breaks 5 Grand in Taxing Bodies. We have the 2nd Highest Pension Debt that totals a Staggering Statewide 331 BILLION for all PENSIONS.
Here is that number in what you could do with that in Carrier Costs. A US Nimitz Class Carrier Battle Group Complete with Planes and Escorts is 15 Billion for everything to RUN for 1 Year. We as a State could have 22 for the Amount of Debt we owe. That is Twice the AMOUNT OF Nimitz Carriers IN THE WORLD. Yet all we here from the Democrats and State Workers is MORE TAXES. Sorry BB but the Taxpayers ALL OF US ARE TAPPED OUT.

The proposed budget was $3 billion dollars in the red. How do you propose getting around the deficit? Maybe you would pledge some of your monthly income to help subsidize the programs that you call very important? Everybody has their hand out these days and this governor is putting his foot down. We can only hope he stands his ground.

Butters, here is how we do it in the real world, we cut EVERYTHING by 10 percent, EVERYTHING.
I don't care WHO you are, you have 10 percent waste and abuse, and that is being VERY kind. There isn't a State agency or program that cannot cut 10 percent in REAL spending ( not the phony reduction in growth ).
Just like the current retirees could take a haircut on their bennies, say 10 percent to save the long term sustainability of the program.
But they won't, because they are entitled.
Now, what would a straight 10 percent cut across the budget do for the deficit?
