No I'm not going back in time. When my kids were young we'd all go out and play in the snow. I've got 11 grandchildren and they all play out in this stuff. I guess there are kids that enjoy playing their games but there are many that can get off the couch and enjoy the outdoors. To each their own. Today before 1PM it was beautiful outside, sort of warm. Beautiful day really.

Willy, did you take a drive down your street. near Medo King. Two teenagers, a father, neighbor guy and his two boys, and one guy that lives off of Lundy made a snowman. Can not miss the snowman. They continued in the back yard maing an igloo. But right now the teenagers are sitting on the couch watching the superbowl.

Photos ALL over FB of kids, parents etc. out playing & building snowmen & forts BB, so what IS your problem? Grumpy old man syndrome?? LOL
County stopped plowing about an hr. ago & will be out @ 4;30 am. ISP & Emerg. Serv. are VERY busy on the interstates, w/peeps in the ditches & trucks jack-knifing all over. I-55, I-57, I-80 & I-39, from all over the state.
The city is doing a great job! They've been down my st. 2 X's today & 2X's @ 3:00 am or so.

No Capn, didn't even leave my driveway today. Early on it was beautiful outside. I started my drive the 1st time about 9 and didn't come in till 11. And without any ice forming us all folks don't have to be as careful about falling down. Last year I fell down and Hatzer had to come pick me up. lol Good super bowl so far.

With what's coming down now, it will be awful hard for anyone to keep up with streets. My driveway is 45-50 long and I cleared it again and before I was finished it was nearly covered again with the ice that's coming down with a bit of snow. With the winds, I'm betting snow day tomorrow, what do you think FOT? It is real brutal out there and it's only 4PM. You are a braver than me .. but. My son,s snowman makes this day just wonderful. Darn young ppl #shakes old man fist# LOL

Why isn't all the streets plowed in streator ? I guess thats my tax dollars are being used on the side of town who pays the most taxes I pay my taxes and my street isn't plowed yet what is going on? Firstly, I hope you are just being a little jockular in your statements concerning the state of your streets 15 hours ago. 15 hours ago this snow storm was just getting its engine going and preparing to lambast you with snow and wind....extreme wind. Is everything in your life so terribly important that you can't just sit back and relax and watch the beauty of this snow system unfold before your very eyes? In this day and age, if you do not have enough food in your house to hold you over for at the very minimum of a few days, well, then you have no idea of what being prepared is and well, lets just leave it at that. This is fact....you are not the center of the universe and everything does not revolve around you. Just let the storm do its thing, then the road crews will do their thing and when they are finished it will be time to do your thing. you see, it's really very easy. And they do have routes that they follow, so if your road just doesn't happen to be the first one plowed, just accept it. It will get plowed and you will be able to do all the things that you were going to do prior to the storm. Personally, I love storms, any kind of storms. Our atmosphere is an amazing thing and a powerful thing. It has the power to give wonderful things and also take things away. And with the advent of computers and weather services you can see them coming or building up before your very eyes.Enjoy these things. Don't be so impatient because you did not get plowed out yet. Enjoy it. Catch up on things you have wanted to do in your home, read a book, get some extra sleep, call someone you haven't seen in a long time. Take a chill pill and relax man. Life is too short.

My guy was stuck at home waiting for his main road to be plowed. My drive is good to go now. My plow guy just left here. Earlier, my son in law already had shoveled another path this morning from the street to both porches and the garage. Great guy!

AM 1250 WSPL Just now ·
The La Salle County Sheriff's Office is advising cautious travel this afternoon with the fresh snow pack. Officials are saying roads are becoming hazardous, including township and county roads. We haven't heard of any slide-offs or accidents yet today, and that would be something that we are okay with. Like · · Share

Just got back from Peru and the roads are terrible...There were 2 vehicles in the ditch out 18 by 39, and it was 30mph all the way into town...It was white knuckles going there this morning with zero visibility and, although the snow is diminishing, they haven't kept up with the roads that well...
