Not to mention that for each driver to plow his entire route takes about 6-8 hours depending on how wide the streets are. So when would you send the guys out to plow..I assume you have done it before so just wanted your input on what would be the proper timing...

Relax folks, with 85 miles of streets in the city it will take a bit of time to clear the roads. Just because it has snowed doesn't stop traffic from going through our city. Main routes, Park and Bloomington, Main & Bridge, Otter Creek and 12th all probably get cleaned first. 1st, Shabbona and 4th, Oakley Ave all come into play. The guys working the streets do one heck of a good job in my opinion. If we don't get anymore snow I'd just about bet our streets will be pretty darn clear tomorrow morning. If you really have no where to go, you're just getting in the way, sliding and getting stuck which slows down everybody not just you. When we had the blizzard we were down to pavement within 24 hours and I can only think of one person that called me and complained about the City doing a poor job.

My side street is plowed. But there is a 18" "hump " of snow at the end of my drive. Young son & I will snow blow this afternoon. Like Tosh, we really are well stocked up and don't really NEED to go anywhere today. Looks great! All my Texans are amazed. Mom got up w/the dawn to watch it snow.

Hope you have an auger type blower Dave, it's thick and wet. My little Toro made it but the first cut thru was tough. If you're getting older like I am, please be careful and take your time folks. I'm betting the kids are having a ball in this stuff. Makes for good forts and snow men, and best of all hot chocolate when they come in.

This is about the worst snow removal job I've seen in this town in quite some time. Usually really good but this leaves a lot to be desired.

My Toro is not up to it unless I want to spend all day. My snowplow guy will swing by Monday. My neighbor cleared a path to my front porch for...Chester. That,s what he said.

The Times Newspaper 12 mins ·
Visibility in open areas (not protected by timber or in the river valleys) is very poor due to increasing winds. County Highway plows will be out in the more heavily traveled protected areas until visibility diminishes or until dark. Snow removal operations will begin again at 4 a.m. Monday. — La Salle County Highway Department

With what's coming down now, it will be awful hard for anyone to keep up with streets. My driveway is 45-50 long and I cleared it again and before I was finished it was nearly covered again with the ice that's coming down with a bit of snow. With the winds, I'm betting snow day tomorrow, what do you think FOT? It is real brutal out there and it's only 4PM.

The "kids" are inside eating Doritos, sucking down Monster drinks and playing games on their X-Boxes and Play Stations...are you experiencing a quantum time shift, or what?

My 15 year son, my 13 year daughter, neighbor guy, 22 and his two boys, was outside this afternoon building a snowman and also working on an igloo. So not all teenagers are on a gaming system.
