Tosh, if I were a journalist and proved the sky was orange, would you parrot it?
Has critical thinking become such a scarcity?

You know, I don't post a lot here often...But, when I chime in, I do it with FACTS... FACT#1 - MOST, if not ALL, people that come from 3rd world countries are NOT adequately immunized...Certainly not to an eradication level... FACT#2 - MOST, if not ALL, diseases come from 3rd world countries because their indigenous people are NOT adequately immunized...Hello Tuberculosis, Measles, and EVERY other illness that may come with them... FACT#3 - IF you CHOOSE to not immunize your children, that is YOUR choice...YOUR children may pay the price for that, and you wouldn't like that all the same...FACT#4 - It was NOT by my choice that our already porous borders were opened and, whether you like it or not, it IS a factor...Those who carry the disease also transmit the disease, plain and simple... I have been properly immunized, but I have also seen the dark side of such things...That being said, we are to still choose LIFE...Not solely because of our own meager ones, but for those who come after...Disease does NOT discriminate... That is only partially correct. If people choose not to vaccinate their children, those children aren't the only potential victims. Some people don't get vaccinated, not by choice, but because they can't. For example, people with immune deficiencies and infants under 1 year old. You say you "have also seen the dark side of such things". Could you be more specific?

Sniper, Lol, was it something I said? Or, is it a matter that the U.S. has not been defeated, the U.S. economy is growing very nicely. The "austerity" measures you love, has not helped Europe very much and all, Armageddon has not occurred during Presidency at all, as you expected. Now back to "measles", Sniper do you really believe foreigners are coming into the U.S. to infect those minority of U.S. residents whose parent decided not to have vaccinated. You are "the tip of the spear", would that be a strategy you would use? g

No Greek, it was your smartass comment about where I have been and what I have observed.
It might just surprise you that some of us have been to places and seen things outside of this town.
And no, I do not believe that is their intent, but it is a result.
Personally, I would employ the strategy used prior to Kennedy, and incidentally still used by the Mexicans.......
I will leave that up to you to figure out.

Hiya Snipe! Do you really expect anyone to take your personal accounts of conditions in Mexico as more reliable than the WHO stats in regards to vaccination rates? Did you read the article I posted about the outbreak likely originating from a tourist or US traveler abroad? You're not wrong that illegal immigration is an issue. Measles is also an issue. They are just two different issues. Start a thread on illegal immigration if that is what you want to discuss.
If you really want to discuss measles and vaccinations, etc... I know you're against anything being mandated by the government, but what do your feel are valid reasons to not get one's self or one's children vaccinated?

FACT: El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico have equal or higher vaccination rates than the U.S., according to the latest data from the World Health Organization (WHO).

"As a result, children living in third world countries don’t receive immunizations as often as their counterparts in more developed regions. Measles and polio — diseases that wreaked havoc on much of the world in the 20th century — still pose a threat to children in developing countries who don’t receive early vaccination." thinkprogress.org/health/2014/09/17/3568632/vaccine-access-children/I could go on for days posting links to information that supports the facts I've stated...Relying on the WHO for information is like relying on Big Pharma to actually loosen their pockets and help eradicate these diseases once and for all...

Sniper, Great scientific research. Spending how long in Mexico, and ascertaining how many people received the measles vaccine and how many many came down with measles. Care to share the data? This appears to be the "FOX News" method of science. Oh, and how many cases of measles did you see in Mexico? Where did you see them? g
