But still......... I would follow through with the (21) day's and not be greedy, after all.....if it does come out that She develops Ebola and She was out and about, She would sure feel guilty then. She would do more than FEEL guilty. I would consider her criminally guilty of at the very least reckless endangerment. I agree dog.

You do realise that many, many healthcare workers, and volunteers have returned to their homes after treating Ebola pts, right? It took 2 infected pts being brought here, to cause a panic. Before that, no one even knew or cared when volunteers returned to their homes. None of them were quarantined , none became ill, and none infected anyone. I believe that the constant self monitoring is sufficient. I do think that they should be required to report to the CDC daily , also. I don't think they should be taking flights, cruises, etc, simply because, if they start showing symptoms, it could be hours before they could be sufficiently isolated. Jmho, based on infection control basics, previous history of lack of spread following return of volunteers, and common sense. I heard on the news this morning that a Halloween costume of a zombie, got the wearer run down , by a person that has been reading to many apocalyptic websites. seems he ran him down with his car, and then was terrified he was going to bbe infected. by the zombie apocalypse. SMDH.

It's a shame we have these fear-mongerers. It's my understanding, she takes her temp 2 X's daily AND has a nurse visiting her daily too. All being reported. Leave the gal alone!! Sheesh!!

I just laugh, at this point. Some folks, just have NO clue. The fear mongers are worse than the ebola itself.

SMDH. I should clarify my statement somewhat. If she is subject to a mandatory quarantine by the state and refuses to abide by it and would happen to infect someone with Ebola, THEN I would charge her criminally. I would never do the job that she does and I applaud her for her work, but I still don't think they have a good handle on this and should exercise the new catchphrase, "an abundance of caution", at least until they determine how these two nurses and the Dr in NY contracted Ebola. I am curious though why the government is going to quarantine returning service personnel from the region for 21 days as a precaution and not other people? I don't buy the argument that they are doing it because they can order it for their personnel and not order it for civilians because they were volunteers. Ebola knows no bias. Why not quarantine everyone, or no one at all? It seems some political correctness is creeping into the Ebola issue.

There is no reason to quarantine the troops, unless they have been puked on, pooped on, peed on etc. I find it stupid and for show.

My youngest daughter goes to me, "Why is everyone making a big deal over Ebola, when Aids is more of a worry?" Did not really know how to answer except for that it was a good question.

It sure seems like it. Ebola is not the only thing to wait until after elections. I read some where that the government wanted to wait until after elections to discuss the Obama Care. It makes me wonder what they try to keep secret and what they use to try to put in fear to us Americans.

The number of new cases of Ebola in Sierra Leone has jumped dramatically, putting paid to any hopes that the infection rate is slowing.
Official figures released by the minister of health and sanitation show there were 111 new cases registered on Sunday, the highest daily rate since the ministry started publishing figures in August.
There were 45 new cases the day before, including 24 in the capital, Freetown. Laboratory results for patients in Freetown, which include the new British army-built Ebola hospital, showed 40 new cases on Sunday.
There was also a spike in the number of cases in Port Loko, a district north of Freetown where there is still no treatment centre and where, until recently, corpses were left lying on verandahs, in hospitals and in houses for days before collection.
The figures come days after warnings by the UN that Ebola cases in Sierra Leone are being underreported by up to 50%.
It is thought that some patients are still not turning up to hospital over fears that they will be turned away because there are no beds or that they will die isolated from their families.
Sierra Leone’s deadliest day was 5 October, when 121 deaths were recorded from Ebola. Daily statistics compiled by Sierra Leone’s Emergency Operations Centre for that day showed 81 new cases of the virus, fewer than those registered on Sunday.
With 596 confirmed cases and still no treatment centre, the rise in the number of cases in Port Loko will cause deep concern among medical aid agencies such as Médecins sans Frontières, International Medical Corps and the Red Cross, who have been pleading for more beds and resources since the beginning of August. The latest figures make Port Loko the third most affected of the 14 districts in the country. Advertisement
IMC is constructing a 100-bed Ebola treatment centre in Port Loko but it will not be open until the end of November, by which time the World Health Organisation has warned there may be

And that is the reason, we must stay there and fight this disease. Bravo to those brave men and women that go there and help treat it.

Hopefully the numbers of those volunteers wont be dropping due to the responses of the American public. It astounds me to read comments about the volunteers who are returning.
