Who all has Mediacom "tv cable only" and how much do they charge you a month? I just went round and round with them and $80.00 a month is way too much for expanded basic.
I think I am going to switch to satellite and pick out my own channels. The crap Mediacom offers sucks for the price.

10 years ago I paid something like 52 bucks a month for basic expanded, and it was ridiculous back then.
Cut the cable, put up a good antenna, and now have something like 63 channels for FREE. About the only thing I really miss is the History channel and Discovery channel, but from what I have seen, even those are slipping badly.

we just resigned with Mediacom for 49.99 a month. our contract was up with them and threatened to leave unless they cut the price rocket. sniper is right if you can do it that way and get away with it rocket.

MM, I am only about 30 feet up right now, part of the difference is in the Antenna, I have the Wineguard deep fringe, HD8200U series, and a decent Amp. Most days I get virtually all of Chicago, but I really need to add guy wires to the mast and go up another 10 feet. I take it you are south of Streator? You might be surprised at your reception with a big antenna 40 feet or so up and a good amplifier, I think my amp was 40 bucks and the Antenna was 117 bucks. Most Chicago channels are right at 47 degrees from due North for best reception. www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?mc=03&p=hd8200u&d=Winegard-HD8200U-Heavy-Duty-Platinum-VHFUHFFM-HDTV-Antenna-%28HD8200U%29&c=TV%20Antennas&sku=615798398491This is a newer version of my Amp. www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?mc=03&p=HDP-269&d=Winegard-HDP269-High-input-PreAmplifier-%28HDP269%29&c=Pre-Amplifiers&sku=615798396145Unless you can find an old CDE44 rotor or are willing to spend some big bucks for a Ham rater rotor, don't even bother with one, the Chinese made units have never lasted more than a year for me, so I just have it permanently swung to 47 degrees.

Well, my mediacom pricing ran out over a year ago and they raised the monthly bill up over 200 a month, but when I complained they "dropped" it to 155 a month. Thats net, phone and TV AND a 2 year contract to boot. I finally got tired of paying it and switched off mediacom. I am on Frontier, DISH and Basictalk and it comes in just under 100 a month. Bundling dish with frontier is worth a 5% discount. That Basictalk for VoIP digital phone that advertises 9.99 a month BUT its actually 13.xx with taxes It works fine and clear. (911 service tax) but that Sat that Mediacom was out 12 hours was the straw that broke the camels back with me. I asked for some sort of credit for the lost service and was RUDELY told no and was quoted the TOS. Anyone wanting to switch to DISH like me PM me and I'll send you a refer a friend promo code good for 50 bucks off (it can be used with other offers too) I ordered DISH and they were there the VERY next day

I really wish mediacom would have a lower price package and let you pick your own channels to include in it. I don't watch a lot of the channels or rarely. I could do without them and pay a lower price.

I don't have cable television or satellite anymore.
I stream all my television programming and it costs me $14 a month. I get the channels I want.
Screw paying $90 or whatever for cable or satellite television.

What kind of channels other than the networks do you get with the antenna? Any ESPN?
Is there any high speed internet options other than Mediacom and Frontier DSL? Any satellite?

What equipment do/would you need, besides what they give you to hook to your TV? OR Is it watching on your computer? You access netflix and hulu plus through the internet computer/latop to watch through your tv you need: dvd/blueray players or wii, playstation, xbox etc... that have wifi to access your internet You can connect your laptop to your tv through HDMI cable as well. or a tv that has built in wifi to access your internet.
