Warren Spahn, Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson, Randy Johnson, Juan Marichel, Jim Bunning, Nolan Ryan, Steve Carlton. Don Sutton was good but pitched to long into his career. The Perry Brothers-Jim and Gaylord. Whitey Ford When Fergie Jenkins was in his prime he won 20 for 6 straight seasons I believe. I would have put Maddox in there but after watching him and the Atlanta pitchers getting strikes 6 inches off the plate kind of riled me. Plus the strike zone changes really affected a lot over the last 60 years. But I put together a pretty good list and just didn't want to flood this with so many pitchers I've seen. Earyy Wynn was pretty good as well as Jim Kaat. Have at it guys and girls.

Great list Willy. I could not agree more. I would have to add one more.... Rodger Clemens. I know that he was/is a total butt head, but even before the PEDS he was hauling down Cy Youngs. If I had to make ONE choice, I'd still go w/ Koufax.

I forgot about Tom Terrific. Koufax was as good as they come. When he got his control and you're right, those 4 or 5 seasons he was nearlyi unhittable. As a starter he was like Bruce Sutter was as a reliever. Then he lost the circulation in his left arm. It would turn near black at the end of his career. He was done byi about 32. And back then I think most of the guys I listed went the distance and pitched every four days or starts. Just google Fergie and look at the innings pitched. I loved the old pitchers and today they use the pitch count and the guys never get strong arms. Just Horrible. I didn't purposely leave "Clemens out, just forgot about him. I still remember Ventura charging the mound on Ryan. After he got there Ryan put him in a head lock and just pounded him. Ventura later confessed it was a big mistake on his part. lmao

OK, now Koufax retired before I started watching, but all you guys from that era are all Koufax fans.(My Brother included) He was just a 'wild lefty' until he had been pitching a few years and then retired early.....right? He had maybe 5 or 6 stellar seasons? Koufax was not that great of a pitcher to start his career. Like Ryan, he was a fastball pitcher. Then one day a coach or his catcher said to slow it down and go for strikes. I still don't know which was better, his fast ball or one of the greatest curve balls I have ever watched. (I was not even a Dodger fan as I saw him whup the Cubs on WGN) Ryan also became a PITCHER instead of a one trick pony w/ is fast ball. I saw him playing for the Angels and my Rangers knocked him out in just a few innings. By the time he played for Texas, he had 5 count 'em five different pitches WITH CONROL.

Can't remember his first name but it Was Washington, I think. He played for Oakland and was an olympic sprinter turned professional base runner for Charlie Finley.
