I went again last nite, before the show. 2nd visit & great food both times! I don't know about darts, but nobody was playing both times I was there. 1 gal was on the gambling videos & both times, there weren't enough peeps to fill the "shortened" bar.

"one man's pleasure-another mans poison" I'd been planning to go to BPen, & some of the negative criticism pushed me to do so sooner than later. Even though there's the SYFL Pig Roast this weekend I'm getting our entire (well all thats in town) clan together to give it a try this weekend:-)

my wife and I ate there friday. We both had ribs and they were great. I don't give a rats butt about dart boards or gaming machines. We went for the smoked food and will definitely go again and will also carry out. The place is new and clean and the owners were very humble and pleasant. Too many style critics on this board. Check it out. They serve from 11-9pm. Great lunch idea!

I live in the neighborhood and have the pleasure of smelling the aroma of their smoker daily. Of course, being a couple minutes walk from my house I've tried a few items from their menu and I have to say I've enjoyed everything that I've tried so far. It's real nice having good food so close to home and it is a pleasure to support a local business. I think they are doing a good job for having such a small crew and with just getting started. There is a little bit of a wait during meal times but I expect that when the place is packed. I'm sure after they have been up and running for a while the service will smooth out. Most of what I've been hearing from others has been good other than a little knit-picking and I hope the place continues to be a success. It has already started to be a asset to our community and even with the added traffic the neighborhood is still peaceful. It has a nice friendly atmosphere which is more that I can say for a few places up town. I'm not fond of the machines but if the extra income from them helps to keep the food reasonable I'm more than over it.

Had to try it last night............ Big mistake. I'm a gonna add 50 pounds real soon. Man that food was good, I felt sorry for the 2 poor folks trying to keep up, they had just got slammed with what looked like a little league game, both teams! Anyway, yea it took a bit long, but not because of poor service, those 2 humped it and fed probably 40ish people in less than an hour? I was impressed. Oh yea, the guy mentioned he had his own Habanero BBQ sauce, looks like I am forced to go back....... ( we need a drooling smiley...)

Did you try the homemade fries Sniper? They are what got me back for the second trip. I just couldn't get them out of my head. They have a slight BBQ flavor but not too much. Their BBQ sauce is a good sauce too. I do agree that they are a little under staffed but they are probably waiting to see how busy they are going to be.

Oh yea, loved the fries, but that triple stacker sandwich with all 3 smoked meats, BBQ sauce, 2 cheeses and BACON, all on toasted Texas style bread is what sealed the deal for me.......... Man, was that ever good.

Lol, it's the hidden jewels, that aren't fancy, but have good food, that last forever in large cities. While other fancy dancy establishments come and go. I do hope that this place can withstand the harsh critics in town, that have such a plethora of outstanding choices to measure standards by. Anyone of a certain age knows that good cooked meals are worth the wait. The instant gratification crowd is definitely harder to please. They want it 10 min ago, but to taste like it took all day to slave over it. I'm disappointed that my schedule has not allowed me to try it yet. Especially with snipers mouthwatering description!

The Rockwell is closed and has a "For Sale" sign hanging in front, it has been closed at least since last fall. A few years back the bar was on Ebay for sale... I spotted this place in Dwight last night.. www.cherryredroasters.com/Cherry_Red_Roasters/Home.htmlanyone been there? We went to the Cherry Roasters last night. Very good brisket/pork/slaw sandwich. Will definitely be going back there again. Havent made it to the Bullpen yet, heard the ribs were very good. Its good to see more bbq joints in the area. One of my favorite kinds of food.

Speaking of local BBQ.....I know back in the day, the Hickory House in Ottawa on Rt. 6 was a few folks 'go to' choice. Are they still in business? No they closed down. Somewhere I still have the recipe for their sauce, I need to find that, I loved their sauce.
