The car show and cruise night sucked. The dream machines car club are a bunch of idiots. They had no clue what was going on. No order to anything to do with getting ready for the cruise. The classes they put the vehicles in sucked. I mean who in their right f***ing mind puts a jeep in a truck class. The judges on the other hand couldnt tell their a** from a hole in the wall. Unless they change sponsoring clubs ill never enter again. Look at how well wenona did this year after thry kicked dmcc out. They had almost 40 cars in the burnout.

I would have to say, this was the best car show and cruise they have had in about three years. The weather was great! The setting for the car show was A+. Marilla would have been good, but I thought the City Park was Awesome! It really made Streator look good! I was really proud. The Cruise Night was AWESOME!!! So many great cars and lots of people.
As to Custom 86's comments... Wenona Days I heard it wasn't that great and the burnout contest wasn't as safe as it should have been. If you think you can do a better job at putting on a car show than the Dream Machines....then you get your butt in the club and help out.. Other wise don't go!

From what Ive heard, DMCC donates their money to charity when everything is said and done. Wenona was out to make more money.

I refuse to have any dealings with a CAR CLUB that doesnt require every member to have their own car. A car club is for people that have custom vehicles not who ever wants to join. The car club here in streator is more about politics than cars if your not part of their clique then you dont even get looked at.

I went to Wenona toward the end of the burn out ans saw these young ladies who had dirt all over their faces and their white blouses were dirty. They didn't look too happy.
The reason being the burning of rubber the rubber dust cloud settled on the people. There were 4 or 5 police squad cars on the road as we got closer to the burn out.
I am glad Streator does not allow the burn out contest as Wenona.
Tonica had a really nice car show the week before.

Well I say someone is in trouble, cause the city put a ban to the burn outs along time ago when tg&y was still at northpoint. That was the last time burnouts were allowed. And I didn't see anything where the city allowed the burnouts this year. And if the burn outs are still banned in Streator, I think this will be the last cruise night Streator will allow.

Rocket, learn to read. There were no burnouts in Streator. They were in Wenona.

One entrant held up the cruise, while the organizers waited for SPD to show up for a wreck-less driver doing burnouts on Main with a large crowd around.

We go to a lot of car shows, and Streator is the only one that we stay away from. There is too much noise and clusters of people on the sidewalk. Other shows do not cruise while people are walking around. It's just unorganized. Springfield has a car parade, then they park the cars downtown. If any car does a burn out or speeds, the police are right on them, and they are kicked out of the parade. Springfield has a lot more cars and people then Streator does, yet it's very well organized. They even have a band set up on one street. Did Streator use the band shelter for anything on cruise night? Lacon had a local singing talent show at their car show. People could enjoy some music. They also had activities for the kids. Dunk tank, face painting, games, and a bounce castle. It was very well organized. Something for everyone. We have bar hopping and exhaust fumes

I used to enjoy entering the cruise when it was an actual cruise. When it turned into a car show, where it took an hour to drive the loop and when you park the car, people with strollers are inches from the car and people are not paying attention when the walk by the cars and scratch them up, that was enough for me. I still go up to look at the cars, but I have more fun socializing with people I havent seen for years.

I still love cruise night, but even with the far fewer cars this year, there didn't seem to be much cruising until much later at night.

One thing to say is this. And it is for more people than me.
I have a handicap placard because of some health issues. I did enjoy the car show.
We went back twice to see Cruise Night but we could not park close enough to walk. I wish the organizer had one street open for handicap parking. Maybe the street north or east of the city park.
I missed seeing most of the night.
Some of the older folks would like to see the cars of their youth driving in a parade.
