The rise in state gas tax along with the rise in crude oil prices has gasoline prices nearing $4.00/gal. yet again. Not much conversation as to why. It appears that everyone has accepted exorbitant gasoline prices without questioning the reasons.
We have been to every border state this summer and amazingly the minute we have crossed state lines gasoline has dropped in price substantially and the roads are markedly better. Good ol' governor fat bastard has the gas tax going up every year by 3¢ or more cents a gallon every year and we have little to nothing to show for it. The only state I've ever driven in whose roads are comparable in quality to Illinois' is Louisiana.
I don't know where the money is going but it dam sure isn't going towards road improvement. That's not to mention the huge increase in license/title fees several years ago.
We're getting screwed by fat bastard and his supporters and it seems to go unnoticed.

The only thing we can do is move out of Illinois, which people are doing in record numbers, or vote the prick out of office, which didn't happen either. People voted for his outrageous policies and don't seem to care, and we're all paying for it!

I’m sure plenty of Dems were led to believe this suspension would last forever. Unfortunately for the rest of us Bailey just wasn’t a good candidate..

The suburbs control the vote so the GOP had better find a qualified person, with tons of money. Trouble is, when taxes are put in place, the next guy figures out how to spend, never to give it back.
