there will be plenty of lawsuits coming and those that were sent to prison will have their convictions overturned. towne is a sorry excuse as an attorney. the taxpayers will be caught holding the bag for his stupidity.

Anybody remember Tony Condie?
Isn't the first, probably won't be the last.

I must have missed the reporting in our local newspaper of the Supreme Court decision that will have such a large impact on our area. Then again, they also didn't seem to report on the taxpayer funded $295,000 same day profit or the murderer confessing his violent Main Street attack to our officer either.

It appears that you already have knowledge of what is going on, yourself. Why don't use start a newspaper and report what you want then that way you will not miss anything.

Boy my purchase just south of the county line looks better and better every single year. Tax capped county meaning I can not get raped by massive tax hikes by the taxing boards on a whim. My kids go to a school that is in decent fiscal shape compared to both SES and SHS and get better instruction and more 1v1 time with their teachers. I'm close enough that I get all the comforts of living in a city aka water gas cable yet I am not paying city of Streator taxes however I do have to pay their Sewer rate. Now I am not going to get hosed by the County as they have to pay out the nose for all the lawsuits they are going to have to payout from this crap. If your in LaSalle county expect according to a cousin that works in the insurance industry since the actions were deemed Illegal about 5-10 million in settlement costs all borne by the Taxpayers in cash at one time if not more. More than likely you going to see a 20 percent increase in your county taxes to cover the losses. Enjoy that spike.

There might be some that sue. But, I wonder how many really lost drug money and are dead? If it was drug money, they would be owing that to someone higher up than them most likely. I imagine there were consequences for 'losing' it π³
I think that there will probably be a few verdicts challenged that Towne presided over. I hope not, but I'm sure there will be many discussions with lawyers to see if convictions can be overturned because he himself was involved in illegal actions. I think there will be one lawyer who he kept trying to silence by attempting to file charges against that will be doing everything possible to hold him accountable.

They ignored the "due process" constitutional amendment.
Procedural due process is the guarantee of a fair legal process when the government tries to interfere with a person's protected interests in life, liberty, or property.
