Pigs as far as animals or pigs as far as law enforcement?
As far as animal wise, I did not know there was any there. I thought that The Mitchell Family has not been around Streator for a while to have live animals in their building unless they are renting the building out. But that also would not surprise me, though.

He has 2 pigs of some kind at his building. One is hanging on the side of the building over the sidewalk. The other is on the roof. When he is told the one over the sidewalk is an ordinance violation he will be on here saying his rights were violated again. Anything to stir up more problems. Things in the city are changing so there has to be a new crying point.

I seen it today, yes makes downtown look just radiant and inviting! Just proves what everyone has been saying he slowly goes further over the edge every day.

They may not be bothering anyone Tosh but the is an ordinance about structures hanging out from buildings. That's why signs must be flat up against buildings now. What if the support broke and that pig hit kids walking down the sidewalk?

He should just be done with the charades and put up a giant middle finger or an F U Streator sign on his building. Anyone that thinks that he is for the betterment of this city is living in a fool's paradise. He wants nothing of the sort.

Maybe this time they won't come to me with a threat of a fine for an ordinance that doesn't exist or hold a Special meeting with no public comment to outlaw flying pig artwork in CBD. After all, Anything's Possible, isn't it?

What if the support broke and that pig hit kids walking down the sidewalk? Is it a structure? I call it artwork. Is it a sign? I don't see any name on it. Perhaps you could be more specific and provide the wording of the ordinance that you think it violates? Nobody talked about the flying witch that I had hanging from the top of the Majestic marquee years agoas a safety hazard or code violation. When giant spiders were hung from thin lines from another downtown building I didn't hear your concerns. Is it only a problem because of what I talk about? You do realize that it is not filled with real pig parts, don't you? It happens to be basically a hollow fiberglass pig. It doesn't weigh very much at all. I really doubt that the 1/4 inch thick by 6" wide steel plate holding it in place would ever break, but just in case there is a steel safety cable that can support over twice the wight of the entire assembly. Just the same, I was thinking about asking the City if I could borrow some of their "sidewalk closed" barricades (if they aren't being used for any falling apart buildings now) just to create more of a spectacle and draw more attention to it. "Caution: watch for pig droppings". Would that make you feel better?
