This team has talent. Just look at the rushing records we are setting. The kids should be supported and not criticized. The coach is a different matter. Not playing smart, turnovers, lack of discipline, lacking basic fundamentals I thought were all things a coach is responsible for teaching. Isn't this coach being paid to teach and coach this team. I just can't understand how people are blaming the kids and not the coaching staff. Does the old boy network run this deep in this town. Just look at the marching band for an example. We just took a second place finish at the U of I band competition with a first year band director. Changes can be good people. This coaching staff I don't believe has ever won more than two games. How can you blame the kids? It's new kids every year with the same result.

There will be good football ball team playing in the city of Steator, Friday night. The name of the team is the Herscher Tigers. One should attend the game to see a well coached and eager to win group of participants, (Herscher). Herscher's coach knows how to coach, and is proud of his team, unlike his opponent's disgraceful team, players, and coaching staff. Get there early to get a good seat and watch the tigers whip up on the bulldog's ass.

I'll be there. You talked like you were an authority. Instead, just a troll.

cum, you must be an authority on every topic on the streator forum. If you attend friday you will see a thumping by the tigers, if you even attend. You and a couple of others that have nothing better to do, than follow some losers. Get a life and do not soil your depends.

You say that the football team is a waste of taxpayers money. I'm curious, how many wins do you feel are required to make it worth spending taxpayers money on the football program? I don't think the high school gets paid for each win and I've been to every home game the past few years and the stands are usually pretty full so the gate receipts and concession sales for the games should be decent. So how is it a waste of taxpayer money to have a one win season versus going undefeated?

North, sports and extra-curricular activities are all a waste of taxpayer money. If parents want children in a band, drama, sports, they should find sources that are funded by themselves. The school wants to purchase new bleachers and a coach and athletic director would take tens of thousands of spectators to pay for. Give the spawn a taxpayer paid education and then let them follow their parents, to the role of a "burden " on society. Most will have criminal records and enter welfare.

As said in the past, the football ball team and coaching staff are a shame! When an adult associated with the team says they are disgraced, why have the program? I hope the board does not waste taxpayer money on new bleachers, as is being considered. The school borrows money each year to stay afloat, cut the sports and give the spawn an education. Maybe, they graduate and get a job at a call center. Aim low, and one will not be disappointed! 8 solid losses (asswhippings) and 1 win, what a SHAME!
