Went there last night after 8. Got seated right away. Service was good. Ordered prime rib and it was average. Wife ordered fish. Said it was very good and her American fries were amazing. We both loved the creamy garlic dressing. I think the guy seated by us was a food critic. He was discussing how the batter of the fish over powered the actual fish flavor. Too much salt in the batter. The chef came out to discuss it with him. They both seemed to working towards making the product a little better. I think they will do fine. I might try the pork chop/rib combo the next time.

Oh, I hope so! I get tired of being surrounded by t-shirts n hoodies. Doesn't anyone enjoy dressing up anymore?!? Wouldn't that be great? However, it was posted tongue in cheek, as I got kicked out, for my halter dress, back in the 70s. I'd love to see a dressy place. I remember when we used to get all dressed up for Hollywood Nights, then things changed. It was a black tie affair and the was so fun.

Oh, I hope so! I get tired of being surrounded by t-shirts n hoodies. Doesn't anyone enjoy dressing up anymore?!? Sorry, I wore a nice t-shirt and blue jeans and my wife wore a sweatshirt and jeans. We were dressed casual. I am not there to impress or be impressed, just wanting to have a nice meal in a nice place. To be honest, I really dont desire to go to a place where I have to wear a suit and tie. I think we were dressed appropriately for the place and the clientele. I prefer to dress for the occasion and not necessarily the establishment.

Casual dining is great. It's every day, run of the mill. Getting dressed up a little makes it special.
Guys...when your significant other comes out with her hair looking sexy, and dressed in something special, doesn't it make you appreciative of her efforts? Just think if YOU did that for her. Just saying.

It's not open anymore, but I loved the Red Door too! Victor was the one who cooked some dishes @ your table, when he first opened it in the 70s. Steak Diane, Cherries Jubilee, Bananas Foster ..... The Red Door oh yes! very good food and real chefs also, but very expensive too say the least, you get what you pay for though.

I wouldn't say "people in Streator are looking for the bargain" I know MANY who go out for a nice dinner. I guess if you don't go, you don't see them! I like Hanks too, snipe. Loved their Fri. nite buffets too! Blue Star, Hank's is terrific. How about "Annie's Hideaway", "Monty's", and gosh remember "Paradise Island"? Gosh, remember when men wore at least a tie for dinner, and pulled out the chair for their lady? g Yes Annie's Hideaway is very good food and very reasonably priced also.

Annie's Hideaway...havent been able to bring myself to go back there. That was the last place we had a 'special night' out before my dear friend passed. And I liked the place. Maybe one of these days.
And, we were both dressed up!

Casual dining is great. It's every day, run of the mill. Getting dressed up a little makes it special. Guys...when your significant other comes out with her hair looking sexy, and dressed in something special, doesn't it make you appreciative of her efforts? Just think if YOU did that for her. Just saying. Sure Helen, I got ya, I know what you mean and agree to just a certain extent. The flip side is......no.....not even a little bit. If it takes someone an hour plus of primping and you are running late and it takes forever to decide on what to wear.......it's really pretty much a bummer. I really prefer a woman that is comfortable with herself and is just fine in a flannel shirt and jeans and boots. No need for excessive makeup, perfume, body glitter, etc. When my other half gives me that warm and genuine smile, gets me every time, it has absolutely nothing to do with what she wears or what brand of makeup. It could be sweat pants covered in paint from us just finishing a project and have warmest of feelings. Personally, I think the marketers play to Women's insecurities. They advertise a boatload of expensive products they make you believe you have to have. My BEST example is skin tone. Here in the West, Women want to have darker skin. They will pay to tan or spray on tans, or any number of things to get the desired results. Now if oooo go to Asia, it is the absolute exact opposite. They go to great lengths and expense to have lighter skin color. It is considered 'higher class' because you don't have to work out in the sun for a living. They wear scarves over their arms, even in some brutally hot weather, they have skin whiteners, they have Dr. prescribed treatments all just to have lighter skin. The point is that the marketing people make you think you need all the stupid products when the truth is.......you are all just fine......just the way you are....... If you enjoy dressing up, by all means do so and enjoy. If someone else does not, don't allow it to ruin your own enjoyment. Hmmm...I don't think I mentioned body glitter, making anyone late, or indecisiveness. Lol. And when you say, "no, not even a little bit", are you REALLY meaning to convey to your wife that you DON'T appreciate her 'cleaning' up for you?? Lol, id be putting you in the dog house for THAT sentiment I rock a pony tail most days for work. my guy appreciates me in scrubs, or in a sweat soaked T & shorts, with sweat dripping off my nose, doing yard work. or paint splatters in my hair. but, when I meet him at the door dressed up, it's a nice reminder that I can still rock a skirt or whatever. I feel the same with him. He looks good to me in his work clothes, all sweaty and a little grimy. but, when he cleans up... all I was saying was it's nice to have a place to go, that makes a special evening.
