Thank You st43 & Dive. A friend asked, when I told her. BTW, st43, I told her you're a reliable source. Oh boy, don't set me up to a standard I can't Live up to. I shall surely fail.

Sounds like a good night to test your furnaces performance...if you can get below -0 with a bad wind and hold 70 inside your house, you're doing pretty good lol
and pray the wind doesn't knock your power out!

In a perfect world, we would all have generators, fireplaces, and alternative heat sources in our homes...But since the world is nowhere near perfect, what about those who don't?... We pay through the nose for Com-Ed and Nicor, yet their systems are so antiquated that we lose power at the first sign of any real weather... I live in a brick house that is a rental...It has older windows that are covered with plastic to save me money...Yet when the power went off briefly this morning, the temperature dropped substantially in a very short time...If it goes out for a long period of time, I'm screwed because I have no fireplace or generator and certainly can't afford to go out and buy one... We deserve better from our utility companies...And yes, they can improve their service - regardless of the weather...

You don't just believe everything you read on the internet? After posting about the 90 year old lady blowing away a guy that tried knocking her out, I don't blame you for checking sources now.

And Streator schools did not cancel. TOTAL disregard for people driving in from out of town, along with a TOTAL disregard for these poor little waifs who are running around in this weather with nothing but a "hoodie" on!
I know, I know...NOT your problem, Wilkinson.
