Who is the jerk on the ATV that goes screaming around town between 10 pm & 2 am? It's very very loud & fast - if he goes past your house, you'll know it  Im on the east side of town & you can hear him go clear across town. I hate to be a tattle-tale & I just usually deal, because it's not a big deal to me until it's most nights, but I'm going to have to phone the police. This guy does not stop, & it'll cause a wreck one night. He has no headlights  |

Heard him also about 1 am last night and do not blame you at all. He is going to hurt himself and quite possibly someone else. He shows no respect for anyone else.

I am not sure where you live, but some sob, was at southside around midnoc. or so. Just watched my little neighbor boy, antagonize a cop, that was here for a car accident. Basically thumbing his nose at him, as he was on his own property, riding in front yard.
Well own property is one thing, but distrubing the peace is another. We are sick of it over here.

It is a shame that others do not show common courtesy and a little respect but it is hard for the cops to catch these kids if they know how to ride and some of us use trailers and go to riding parks , just one of those things that annoys people , too bad we did not have a riding park closer to town but then they would prolly ride to and fro anyway , just one of the drawbacks to livin in a boomin' metropolis like Streator LOL

I know there is a guy by Vactor that flies down Illinois St but that is nothing new everyone does and when they do it the worse around 2 pm car wise been told by cops they can't really do much since it is change of shift and not any cops on the streets then...told them well if someone gets hurt it is not gonna be good

Don't really know what the answer is, but I know the cops have been down here on the southeast side a number of times to try to stop them. The ATV's hit the railroad tracks and lose them every time. They don't have headlights on and wear helmets so they can't be identified. Pretty crafty.
One neighbor of mine actually spoke to one of the riders about cutting thru his yard and damaging stuff. Well, that kid got even by doing donuts on the street and on the gravel berm in front of his house every night about 10PM. He finally stopped, but not until he felt he had gotten even. Stringing a clothesline or putting spike nails in a board thru our yards are some options, but I couldn't live with myself if someone got seriously injured from either one. I think the best thing to do would be to follow them home and then report them to the cops. Probably wouldn't do much good, either, cause they wear helmets and you wouldn't be able to identify the actual driver. Still, at least the cops would have an address and could drive by once in a while to let them know they are on to them.
I know it's hard to believe, but I have actually gotten used to them running at all hours of the night. This has been going on for about 4-5 years now and I don't even hear them any more.

I live on Lundy and this morning around midnight or 1 I heard a dirtbike or a four wheeler go flying past my house and then I heard like a noise like he went through gravel or something.

I guess you could do like the old timers use to do to stop trespassers and get the 12ga. out with a load of rock salt and after unloading go directly to hospital he will be a long shortly.................. lmao
Then you will find out who he is.

Maybe you could were a helmet like they do when you use the 12ga and they will not be able to identify you as the triggerman. I guess if it's a good enough excuse not get arrested because of lack of identification on the 4 wheeler it should work for the triggerman.

Spoke w/ police yesterday, as he was parked in my back alley. They know who it is and where they live. Now they have to catch him in the act.
I was on my buggy and he just laughed, when I told him, I had not learned how to do wheelies yet.
