Now perhaps the discussion of the topic of "Evolution being tauth in Public Schools" move forward. g ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I think the matter has essentially been answered through the legal system, or at least through case law. The theory of evolution can be taught in public schools, and it essentially is. Creationism can be discussed, as long as it is not taught as a scientific fact, or provided that the instructor is not espousing his or her views on Creationism as factual (i.e., proselytizing on a personal religious viewpoint), thereby forcing them onto the students in some manner. I do not believe a science teacher who facilitated a discussion on alternate theories of human existence, including Creationism, so long as they were not taught as scientific fact, would be in danger of violating the First Amendment. The line seems to be crossed whenever any religious principle is taught as fact, in science class or otherwise, in a manner that would essentially involve the instructor, as a representative of the government, respecting an established religion.
