It has been there for a while now anyone hear what may have happened if anything?. Either shift change or an oncoming train that had to side switch on a side track to allow the train to proceed.

They don't stop trains in town to do shift changes. If a crew goes over the allotted hours they pull into a siding and wait for a crew. Not in town.

Not in town. they use to change crews out by the dam. they wouldn't block streets in town waiting for the crew members to show up.

If your talking about the single grain hopper sitting on the repair track by the depot. It had a bearing failure on an axle so rather than risk a massive amount of damage to the track and train and possibly Streator it was set off for repairs. The BNSF replaced the axles that had the failure and they are waiting for the next local train to pickup the car should be gone this week hopefully.
The tracks on the south end of town still swap entire trains just not as often as they used to. With PSR and the NS would rather get the old Streator connector train in Chicago so they can add everything else going towards Pittsburgh behind it. Hence why we have accidents especially like the one in Ohio a couple months back. The car something like 30 cars deep was literally on fire for 20 miles before it derailed.

It was the 22nd there was a train stopped on the tracks at least out south here for about an hour that day that I knew of.

They’ve been working on the tracks. Saw the crew working between Lundy Crossing and Bridge Street Crossing the other day when we came through town.
