Another shooting last night
Same area as may shooting.
And yesterday morning police called in a bomb squad for a suspicious bag chained to a light pole outside the post office.
This needs to be stopped.
This shouldn't be happening in a small town.
And its gonna get worse the longer that mayor and police chief sit idle not doing anything about it.
This town needs to be flooded with isp ,both county sheriff departments and the feds.
They need to run these thugs out of streator and never come back again.
When are people going to go to council meetings and demand action.
You all live here and have kids that you don't want to be murdered.
So go to these meetings and speak up.
Time to make streator a safe community again.

I’m curious if you have appeared at City Hall yet, Rocket? I can confirm he did not. No one went to the city council meeting. Instead they get behind a keyboard and act all big and bad. They whine and complain. But they will not take any action to better themselves or the community. But they play the victim. As far as rockets pipe dream of armed people walking down the street, if you had common sense, you would know that draws attention to yourself and would become a target. Rocket, your ideology just kills me. If you want change, go to the city council meetings and speak your mind. Don’t whine on an online platform and expect to start a movement. |

There both from the Chicago area.
Shootings started on the rise
When she became mayor and hiring this new police chief.
As you can see ,no isp in town like they did in 2003
That this mayor said would be assisting in patrols heavily on our streets.
All words no action.
If the state police was in town flooding our streets like they did in 2003,the shootings would stop and the town going quiet.

When our coworker Pat S was drug to death, everyone kept hounding me to move away from Streator. My girls were still young and my coworkers feared for our safety. I reminded them that I, my parents and grandparents had been born here, and no one had ever been assaulted. We didn’t associate with shady characters. We didn’t move.
I’m surprised at the people my age and older who say this is the worst they’ve ever seen. Yes,action needs to be taken. But we’ve survived hideous crime in the past.
I was reminded recently of some very bad times.
The young woman chased down and murdered after her boyfriend was shot to death in bed.
The Safarcek murder at his gas station. He was shot. I believe there have been 2 other shooting deaths at gas stations also.
The 3 older women murdered in their homes that was unsolved for years.
A series of home invasions with a couple people shot.
The 70s were busy.

We need people to get involved and report crimes. These people getting shot aren’t giving the police any information and refuse to cooperate. |
