the ability to rely on EVs completely is decades away. the battery technology just isn't there and the prices for these vehicles are not within reach of most of the people yet. besides having an EV in Alaska would be plain stupid.

Nuclear power is the only way to make electricity that is green. Takes a lot of electricity to produce hydrogen but combine those two together and you can have green energy. The environmental impact of mining lithium should shut that industry down instantly.

A company that I'm interviewing with for a job was looking to get a few electric trucks for their local trucks. They have 10 day cab trucks they use to make local deliveries and spot trailers for their customers and such. They were told to buy 20 electric trucks to replace the 10 diesel powered ones and then to power them they needed to get a 2 Megawatt power line installation to their yard to handle the power needed to recharge the battery systems on the electric trucks. 20 trucks at an average price of over 250k each plus another 500k minimum to install the charging system. So 5.5 million dollars versus less than 200k for overhauls for the current ones. Guess what they did.
