Congratulations to the spawn on another a•s whipping by a team with a winning record . The ihsa Playoff system is a FARCE. Allowing a bunch of chumps to advance to the playoffs without beating a team (over.500) is comical & also meaningless. The system is flawed but does show the puppies are the. " best of the worst". May as well give every team a chance in post-season like ihsa basketball. Maybe, next year. I see Marquette got thumped by a quality team today. They play in one of the weakest conferences in the state. I’m wondering why you choose to drag MA into this discussion, and do so in with a negative spot light? MA is a tiny school, and as such is now a part of a conference that is made up of similarly sized schools. Those kids work hard, ALL YEAR, to be as good as they are. I know the names of the players because they are names that you can find in newspaper’s as Marquette players for fifty & more years! My Grandchildren are 4th generation Marquette students. Their name is new, but their family have been students and athletes there for 75 years. On the other side of their parental gene pool, was another StXaviar/Marquette graduate Grandmother, but that boy didn’t want to go to M. Their other parent is a MA graduate. So, my GSon plays for MA. Not because he was recruited but because he chose to go there. The kids on that team, are dedicated to the sport & their heritage. Why bash kids for no reason?? I support Streator sports, & am very pleased for the victories they achieve.

Just to make the Playoffs is an honor Ottawa finished 1-8 LP 4-5 FCW 0-9 Marquette and SHS were the only 2 HS in the Streator Ottawa area that made it into the playoffs. And from the Illinois river valley area only Hall SHS and Marquette made it into the Playoffs. Also out of the 6 teams on the I-8 Large conference the side the Dog's play on 4 went to the State Playoffs. So cityslicker those kids while they may not have been the best overall still managed to finish the season not with just 9 games but got to play 10 games and that does not happen very often around here. They finished with the same record as Geneso that's right the Powerhouse of the old NCIC got taken out in the 1st round of the playoffs after barely making it in also at 5-4 who took them out Dixon.

I’m sorry, I only saw MrSlick degrading our SHigh performance in the playoffs. It was your post that brought MA into the discussion, from what I read. Possibly part of the discussion has been lost to me. I will look later.
Thanks for your response.

Indeed, Northsider & Stiggy brought Marquette up , rather negatively, on September 26, I just checked. So, you were complying with their opinions in your dark post today.? Makes no difference. Society seems absent of responsible commentary we, the little no count people, reflect the attitudes displayed by the giant news sources. Who gets injured is not of consequence, we just try to make our point and the fallout is unimportant, even when it is against young hard working kids!
Fine situation we have....

Again, SHS Football has a new coach and he led them to the playoffs in his second year I believe. Looks like a good future for Bulldog Football!

Actually it’s his third season at Streator. He has 10 wins and 18 losses as head coach of the Bulldogs.

How many of those 10 victories in 3 years were to teams with winning records? I know All 5 this year were losers & below .500 % for the season. One can schedule 5 ". doormat" teams & have a chance at playoffs, what little significance that is. Just a stipend for the coach & bruises for the spawn.
