This town is not known for being a football powerhouse however when it comes Baseball season they pay attention to what the Bulldogs are doin on the field in one hell of a hurry. Trust me I wish the kids around here were as good as say Sterling or Geneseo is but they just are not and it isn't for trying. My butt was out there in HS getting its clocked cleaned every single week also. We just do not have the beef to compete with some of the other schools in the area. When your linemen are 30-40 pounds lighter than the other guys it is hard to compete in the trenches with the other side. Yeah that is what we are going up against sometimes. That and how hard the other schools push them in the offseason.

Most two parent families that have a skilled athlete send their kid to Marquette. They want a good education & a drug free environment. Maybe the high school coaches ought to have another raise on their stipend. I see the softball coach quit after the athletes carried her for all those years. She can live off her salary of over $105,000 a year, without the stipend.

Kick, do you have documentation? No, but do you really think there are no drug users at Marquette? Do you have documentation that there isn't?

Kick, you claim a person has no "clue" but you have no documentation about a fine private institution. I can only perceive that when you blog, you are indeed clueless.

Congratulations to the bullpups on another shameful outing . A 45-0 skunking , a 33 attempt , -2 net yard rushing effort. Stop the abuse. & salvage what little pride is left in the program & forfeit the rest of the season. The excuses & poor performance will only escalate.

City, my comprehension of your proposed reason for poor football seasons enjoyed by StreatorHighSchool is not due to coaching, but the sad life circumstances of the team members. Have I understood you correctly? If my understanding is correct, the theory flies in the face of the experiences of accomplished athletes in nearly every sport. There are too many stories out there in the libraries, going very far back, that tell how hardship has promoted athletes to standards of excellence. Please explain your conflicting observed theory. Thanks!

just to be fair the bulldogs had 4 starters not playing because of injuries. it is tough to ask some one to come off the bench to play when their minutes are limited.

Dive, here comes the excuses & sob stories. Lack of conditioning & poor technique are the real reasons . Toss in poor coaching & pre-game preparation = a poor excuse of a squad. Maybe , the school could ban M.A. From taking the good players.

I hope the bull puppies' athletic director calls Herscher & begs them to allow a"F" forfeit for the upcoming game. A -3 net yards on 33 carries rushing game last was week had to make them the laughing stock of the state. That's -1 inch per carry average for you dummies. Any more excuses for this debacle? The coach is hoping to win 4 more games & get a playoff bid- is he hallucinating?

That's -3.3 inches per carry for those of you who can do math.
