What is your opinion about Rauner and how he is handling the budget? He's not very popular. rauner won the election because people in the state of Illinois want change. being a candidate that goes against unions and popularity makes them hated. if this state doesn't change the way they do business the middle class will be burdened with higher taxes. why should big businesses get massive tax cuts to stay in the state while the middle class get squeezed dry? Madigan runs a large law firm that gets rich people and big businesses tax breaks from the city and state. how is Madigan working for the people of Illinois if he is getting tax breaks for the rich?

I was talking to a state employee last night about the budget situation. I dont remember the exact facts, but he was hoping the deal that was made but was shot down by the courts, would have stayed in place. He was willing to take a little bit of a hit now, then end up getting only 20 cents on the dollar, like some workers in Detroit did when they declared bankruptcy.

For those that say Rauner is NOT Popular you read where the Polls where taken from the Chicago Metro Area OF Course he is NOT going to be Popular UP IN CHICAGO why because he is Exposing the Machines BOSS Mike Madigan as the Puppet Master he IS. Think about this He dared Mike Madigan to get his Caucus of 71 Together Ram the Budget thru that HE Passed and Rauner Vetoed and said we would have a Budget trouble is then Mike MADIGAN would be held Responsible. See King Mike for the First time is going up against someone with a Set of Balls bigger than his in his Political Career and HE DOES NOT LIKE IT. The Governor is going to make the King of the IL Democrat Party RESPONSIBLE for the FIRST TIME IN HIS CAREER for his actions in Springfield. Just look what he tried to do with the Pay issue. In 2007 when Blow Dryer Rod was governor. King Mike sent his Daughter the Atty General and Yes Dad Girl to Court to Make sure his Minions the State workers where PAID. This Year SHE UNDER DAD's Orders went to court to try and STOP the Paychecks. Why Because the GOVERNOR said the Workers would be paid. Now we have the Governor saying Mike Madigan can END this Stand off IF HE WANTS TO all he HAS TO DO IS OVERRIDE MY VETO and the PRESS IS ALL OF A SUDDEN GOING WHY WON'T YOU.
Mike Madigan is Not liking the Press looking into how he runs Springfield or the Fact that His District got a 35 MILLION Dollar Pork Grant for a New School that was kept Safe from the Governors STOP ON ALL GRANTS by HIDING IT IN THE SEC of States BUDGET. Nice Move KING MIKE pretty soon your going to be needing a Prison Jumpsuit like a lot of Former Governors. However as long and your Daughter is the Atty General that is never going to happen.

Copied and pasted from WSPL:
.
The Illinois Supreme Court has denied a request by state officials to decide the issue of paying government workers during the budget crisis.
The high court made no comment Friday in rejecting the plea by Attorney General Lisa Madigan. She sought intervention because two separate courts ruled opposite ways last week

AM 1250 WSPL 1 hr · Gov. Bruce Rauner has stepped up the pressure on House Speaker Michael Madigan over the lack of a budget deal. The Republican criticized the Chicago Democrat Tuesday for accepting what he says is a $1,300 pay raise but refusing to negotiate with him over a spending plan. Rauner and Democrats in the Legislature have tussled for weeks over a budget for the fiscal year that began July 1. State law automatically grants legislators a 2 percent salary increase this year. That six-year-old provision replaced other contentious means of deciding how to compensate lawmakers. Madigan has refused to defend or even discuss the pay hike when asked about it by reporters. The House is in session Tuesday but officials don't expect concrete action.

AM 1250 WSPL Governor Bruce Rauner has signed legislation that aims to stop the state from accidentally sending welfare benefits to dead people. The Illinois Department of Human Services now must review death records monthly to determine if any deceased people are receiving aid.Two recent state audits have found millions of dollars have been paid in Illinois to dead people. One found $3.7 million was paid last year to 1,111 people recorded as deceased and another found $12.3 million was paid for medical care to 2,850 dead people in 2013.

And who is using the deceased person's money? They should be made to pay it back for fraud. Obviously they didn't want to let them know they passed so they could keep getting the benefits. So.... That is fraud and they should be held accountable.

I am so concerned about Illinois' fiscal problems that I have decided to move back to Illinois. I am tired of the low taxes in Indiana.

I probably have the setup you need my man, I know you would have to level the house, can't be caught dead in a Ranch style, but the acreage and A1 Ag status would make it perfect for you to build your next McMansion.........

Oh man, a ranch style home. I always liked ranches. Popular mid century design that still works today. Ours is a little more vintage, like turn of the century coal miners bungalow. (lots of those in town, we are in good company) Well, if the lottery numbers ever hit, we might move out to the country. We are very content though, happy in what we have. There is something to be said for that. I grew up in a small house that was built in the 1870s. In fact, it was two small miner houses pushed together. My parents had some work done on the small attic, and the carpenters were amazing with the antique "square" nails used in the house. The house was somewhere between 800 and 900 square feet. Until my older brothers left, there were five people living there. When I was small, the house did not have a basement. Instead, there was a pathway dug through the dirt to the furnace. My dad worked for years digging so that we would have a basement. Oddly enough, the house next door would not have been out of place in one of the suburbs.
