Gave some people some tomatoes. Some of the Early Girls and some Lemon Boys. Two people stated that the Lemon Boys did not give them Heart burn. Isn't that weird on how simple, and different types can effect whether a person does or does not get heart burn?

"shopping" for veggies here is getting to be slim pickins. I know. Since our beets did not turn out in my garden, I've been attempting to try to find some so I can can them and unable to find. Kroger has organic beets.

I've gave out tomatoes to a few people. I gave both the Lemon Boys and the red tomatoes. I got a response back about how the Lemon boys don't give them heart burn. It's weird on how certain types of foods can make a big difference as far as if it bothers you body system or not.

I rode down the alley and most gardens are......done. I found a 1/2 dozen cucumbers on my front porch chair yesterday when I was walking the dog. They were pretty small.

The only thing left in our garden is my ghost pepper plant, and I still have my pumpkin plants left. Other than that, I tilled up the garden. I canned and froze garden items and also gave garden items to a few people.

Recipe for cabbage and noodles:In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Using a slotted spoon, remove to paper towels; drain, reserving 3 tablespoons drippings. Add cabbage to drippings; cover and cook on low for 20 minutes or until cabbage is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in the salt, pepper, noodles and bacon. Heat through. Yield: 12-14 servings. But I also have used polish sausage in with the cabbage and noodles and was very good that way also. Made it with the sausage today............................ SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing the recipe! It was a hit!

Ingenious folks we have in our town. Guy lives just around the corner from me near the SHS football field. This is his hobby and I think there are a lot of folks who like to grow these special pumpkins. I saw a pic of McMullen at a "giant pumpkin" get together in Wis.
