I gave my friend and neighbor cabbage heads from my garden. Neither one have had cabbage and noodles. I gave them the idea for a meal and hopefully will try to make some.

Never had heard of that until I moved here. Have made it twice with two different recipes from friends. Always with bacon though.

Recipe for cabbage and noodles:In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Using a slotted spoon, remove to paper towels; drain, reserving 3 tablespoons drippings. Add cabbage to drippings; cover and cook on low for 20 minutes or until cabbage is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in the salt, pepper, noodles and bacon. Heat through. Yield: 12-14 servings. But I also have used polish sausage in with the cabbage and noodles and was very good that way also.

Knock on the door just now. One of our "Kids" handled Mom a huge bag of tomatos and cucumbers from her grandpa, a friend of ours. Yup folks, it is that time of year when you shake hands with a friend and they hand you garden veggies with the other hand.

Are you a salesman!? ! Lol! Sounds great and will have to try. Thanks!

I've gave out tomatoes, green peppers, and cabbage out because of the over load.

Fried cabbage is just as good and cabbage and noodles. As long, as there is alot of bacon.

The sausage type sounds pretty neat. I was never a big fan of the cabbage, but then I came here and had haluski (SP)

My great-grandmother moved here from Slovakia, taught my grandmother how to make haluski (always with bacon and butter), she then taught my mother who then taught me. My husband grew up eating it with sausage so I put both bacon and sausage in it and now that is how my adult children make it, my one regret is I was young and dumb and wasn't interested in learning other recipes, she made the best rozek, I have the recipe but it never turns out the same.
