Once again, sadly, Kyle hijacks a topic. So typical. Narcissist.

Thanks for trying with this positive thread MM. Sigh. I, did not read the thread. I, had a great experience, at Marilla Park, today. Went cruising in the convertible, and it always includes, MP. Ran into a Navy Vet, running his beautiful, Sable German Shepard.(lower lever). Nice new bridge, too. Chatted, and cruised up, to the higher lever. Ran into, 3, very nice gentleman, from Joliet, Illinois. They were playing the disk golf thing. Chatted, about the sport, which, I, had no idea was so popular, in Europe. They were kind, enough, to show me how it was done and tell me about the rules. They had played the Pontiac course earlier in the day, and play all around the country. They liked this course. So, apparently, MP, attracts folks, and, that is a good thing. Younger person, asked me, if I, had ever thrown a Frisbee. lol me,"I was throwing a Frisbee, before you were born". him, "Then you would be a natural". My, input, to positive!

Once again, sadly, Kyle hijacks a topic. So typical. Narcissist. You need to look back. It was mommytoo4 who insisted on hijacking the thread to turn it negative trying to attack me and make it seem as though people urinating in the streets and the violence here is acceptable because a much larger community has violence too. Now it is you who is insisting on continuing it negative without even having anything positive to add to it. If you want to keep hijacking the thread, go ahead and respond back with more of your crap knowing that I won't shy away from responding to it again.

I am very confident that there are better times coming for our community, the changes may take time but I am committed to seeing it happen.
I see a much more positive future for Streator.
Anything's Possible!

I think where they are going to start up the restaurant out at the old Bowl Mor lanes as well as rehab/update the bldg. My first job was cook/buss boy at the old Lampliter Room. It was maybe the top restaurant in town at the time. Isn't the old bus depot at Bloomington and Hickory going to open as an insurance agency?

Yes, Chad Lucas State Farm is moving from Westgate Plaze to the building at Bloomington & Hickory.

I am not worried. There have always been groups that are strong supporters of the community, that have seen a vision and built on it. The 4th of July committee, the car club with Cruise Night, the tenderloin crawl, Spring Lake, the TBI clubhouse, the pocket park, the ball diamonds, etc.
And there have always been the negative Nancy's that only see the glass half empty. If we could harness their negativity into positive energy, the world would be a brighter place.
It has to be draining to always see the negative side.

not once did I say I wanted to see someone pee in the streets, and in your insignificant opinion are you saying that peeing in the street is the same as a serial killer, that Streator is so dangerous that it equals that.
The fact of the matter Kyle we live where we live, some places are safer then others, you can embrace it and try to fix it in a positive manner or you can be a miserable piece of human flesh and and take everything said as literal, like the sky is blue.... OMG no it isn't the real color is sky blue, that is how you look at things! You have one life and it is short....very very short, go out on that beach your always at and breath in the air, look at the sky....BE HAPPY!
Quite honestly you make me sad, that someone with a good family and a good life is always so tensed up

You have one life and it is short....very very short, go out on that beach your always at and breath in the air, look at the sky....BE HAPPY! Quite honestly you make me sad, that someone with a good family and a good life is always so tensed up I am sorry if I think peeing in the street is just petty I am working on a project(suggested by our Mayor) that will have a positive message for the community. I don't care how positive it may seem if your involved I would rather see some guy pee in the street! Gee mommytoo4, I don't think that I ever said that someone pissing on our community was the same as a serial killer. When you started using a captured serial killer in a much, much larger city, to try to make what happens here seem acceptable, I compared it to the multiple child murders walking our streets, not someone being allowed by our leaders to urinate in the middle of our streets(which does happen too). By the way that you routinely attack me for talking about wanting there to be consequences for people urinating and fighting in our streets so that there would be less of it, even saying that you would rather watch some guy pee in our streets than see something positive for our community, you really make it seem like you do want to watch men urinate. I have embraced the problems and tried to get them corrected in a positive way, but our City leaders(the only ones who can correct them) were not only not responsive to correcting them, but became very vindictive just because I asked. The recourse that I feel they have left me with to correct the problems may seem negative to you, but I am feeling very positive that although it has taken some time, it is making a difference. Do you really think that you know all about my life based on the little time that I spend posting on here? It has been beautiful on the beach the last few days. I have had no problem at all spending a little time posting here and still having a wonderful time enjoying being with my family. As a matter of fact, posting on here can add to the enjoyment of my days. When my detractors are throwing their fits on here about my talking about the problems that I want corrected, I see it as a good sign that what I say is being heard and threatening to bring the change that they do not want. As an example, today as I am enjoying the beach I will likely get a chuckle out of you trying to make people think I am a tensed up miserable piece of flesh. You are the one wanting to talk negative on a thread that was meant to be positive. You enjoy your day, I know I will be enjoying mine.

I agree that there are some very positive things happening for Streator.
I am confident that there are many people who do want changes here.
Councilman Phelan posted that there is change in the air for Streator.
There is more talk of good changes and doing things differently from the candidates this election season than I've heard in the past. I do think that Streator may be turning a corner.
I am also excited about some positive intended projects that I am working on(even though some Negative Nancys will likely think otherwise of them regardless of what they are).
