What happens if the football was deflated? Does that means the other team goes to the superbowl or what?

I would think, after the investigation, if the people that are doing the investigation, found the ball deflated, would state that the other team goes to the superbowl, as a punishment for the entire team. But my thinking is wrong, I know. Plus punishment for the player and coach.

Personally I don't know how much dif. 2 lbs makes. Bet the league takes complete control of the game balls from this point forward though.. They apparently don't know how many people had access to the balls is the problem.

its hard to prove who exactly deflated the balls in this case. many people have access to the balls during the game.

ESPNs take on the dif it makes espn.go.com/video/clip?id=12206777The NFL(National Favoritism League) in all of thier infinite wisdom, suspended 2 men 1 for life, later overturned, 1 indefinately, for offenses totally unrelated to the game but you get a whole orginization who cheats on the field and it affects the outcome of the game and they do nothing?

Golly, couldn't be the opposing team trying to crawl into the Patriots heads, now could it?
Really, let's examine this more closely, exact pressure you say?
Does anyone want to know what it would take to have an exact pressure?
Standard temperature, precision gauge, standard barometric pressure.
That is why in the real world we use a pressure RANGE to describe correct operations.
God this world is getting Facebook stupid more every day...... Meanwhile our way of life is being shredded.

Brady didn't do much in the first half with the under-inflated balls. When the balls were properly inflated, he had a great second half.

When they are playing, don't both teams use the same ball? If so, wouldn't both teams have the same advantage / disadvantage? When the ball is in play, either team could have possession of it!

That is why they have a range between 12-13# Both teams balls should weigh the same since they are both in the same stadium.. When they are playing, don't both teams use the same ball? If so, wouldn't both teams have the same advantage / disadvantage? When the ball is in play, either team could have possession of it! The way I understood it was each team plays with their own balls

They should do what baseball does. Have the officials in charge of the game ball and check the 12.5 PSI before they are sent into a game. I don't know if the Pats cheat, but they have been fined at least once for spying on the other team. This goes back to Geroge Allen stuff w/ the Skins. He got caught spying on practices too.

I have to agree with you sniper. there is just too many variables that could have happened to cause the air loss or a pressure difference.. you would think if they were going to deflate the balls, all 12 would be not just 11. as for being caught cheating once doesn't condemn the team to being cheaters every time something happens. most teams if not all cheat including the Vikings. the difference is some get caught and others don't.

This is from an ex NFL equipment manager. I asked him about it and this is what he said "This has been happening a long time. Every QB likes the ball a certain way and for Brady to say he had no idea, what a joke. To be honest, this has happened for awhile. If this was a one case situation they why were all the footballs at the same pressure? Whoever did it knew what they were doing. I am not saying everyone under inflates them but some QBs like them at the lowest PSI allowed and others like them at max PSI. only way to stop all this is to have NO ONE be able to touch the footballs before the game and play with what you are given. And if Brady had no clue then I am sure an equipment manager would of been fired and we would of heard all about that I am sure."
