Did the owner of gabby d's move the business there instead of re-opening the one across the street from the highschool?

I just found out the wife of the current owner of this restraunt is running for corners. Don't know if she bought the place or renting it out. But the former restraunt next to the highschool ,I guess the highschool is wanting to buy it and demolish it for more parking space.
And I don't see a need for it since kids there are hardly ever in school anymore like we were in the days. They seem to be in session half days or few days a week. These schools are not filled to capacity with these new additions.

The school board will probably jump at a chance to spend money they do not have. Look for them to try the sales tax increase debacle in the near future,if legally possible! Cut an administrator and a few secretaries, and then think about a new parking lot. I hope Gabby's does well.

What a waste of money if they buy and demolish. Well, it has been forever, since we ate at Four Corners. Did not even know that there was new management. Well, any ways. Good luck.

Just what expertise in running a high school do YOU have?
Attending a school is not the same as running one, idiot.

According to rocket they are thinking about it. My sources on the high school board say dream on, it's not happening.
Vote for Lansford. 4 more years.

What ever happened to Streator Family Restaurant when it was by Bulldogs? Also--wasn't Gabby D's originally out West prior to taking over that building by Bulldogs?

buttbean, apparently the current group of members, does not know how to run a school either. Spend money they do not have, hire expensive and ineffective managers, and run scared of the teacher's union, these are not traits of a well run entity. Be real!

I think they suffered a fire and damage to the interior of the building at Gabby D's. I think that was the main reason it has been vacant so long. I don't remember if Gabby D's was in Westgate previously or not. I have no idea what happened to the folks form the old Streator Family Restaurant. That's going back a ways. I think it was a Greek owned/run business. They most likely moved on to greener pastures. mm, the Greek family sold it & was running a rest. in Mazon. I don't know if they're still there, as the gas sta./rest was moved. A local cop bought it & ran it w/his wife, a dughter of a local bar owner. One of his waitress's took it over not long before the fire. I don't remember Gabbys ever being out west either. Only McKenzies in the strip mall.

Yes, ssm. A friend said she was stopping there for dinner on the way home to Ancona. I don't know who runs it.

I was under the impression that their clients were farmers and Woodland students. Great location b/c of the two state hwys that cross there. Also a lot of small nearby towns like Cornell, Longpoint, Ancona......
