such a shame that they can not only support a bigger multi screen theater but build a bigger one and we can't keep a small one open here

I'm not surprised, that is a strong market. I bet it will have increased pricing, but I don't know about $15.
I agree seaturtle. If more people were willing to come to downtown Streator, I feel it could be different. I just don't think enough people are willing to bring their families around the type of things that are allowed to go on here.

I know people who drive to Bloomington to go shopping and take in a movie while there..Nostalgia is fine but its not bringing crowds to the movie theaters.,Fancy seats, big screens ,and good sound systems do...Personally I avoid new movies because for a number of reasons I don't have time to explain at this moment...

That is nice they could afford this type of theatre. I rarely go to Peru anyways. It's been several years since I even watched a movie over there. I've watched movies here in town.

Our local theatre had a screen bigger than most and a good sound system. I think a movie theatre that is boarded up says a lot about the economic conditions of our downtown and shows the need for changes here so that people don't have to drive to spend their money other places.

We are a mobile society. Driving a half an hour aint a big deal. Personally, even with a great market, with the advent of streaming video and home entertainment systems, the movie theaters, especially the smaller ones are fading out. I did some traveling during the summer, off the beaten path, and I noticed a lot of one or 2 screen theaters in these small towns that have now become churches, or civic centers, or anything other than movie theaters.
