I like the choices for Diabetics & loved the smoothies!
On a side note. I've seen Choc. Pudding recipes, made healthy by using avacados. The Choc. masks the flavor & their a very good veggie for diabetics!

Egads, I knew there was something off about you........... Hendrix or Nazareth for the win....... Listened to Hair of the Dog too. I guess I just listened to a wider range of music than you did. And you don't have a lot of room to talk about me having something off. MOI? ? Color me shocked that someone would think I am off.......

No problem M&M. We really don't want our customers doing stuff that isn't healthy for them. 2 big cones and diabetic isn't a good choice and I fully respect that. You really can't tell your customers what choice to make, they are adults, but......a couple of times my Wife has suggested to our diabetic customers some healthier options we have. A small cone compared to a big banana split, or our smoothies are actually diabetic friendly. Ours are made with all fruit puree, no added sugar or high fructose corn syrup. It IS sweet, but is regular fruit fructose, not sucrose(table sugar). It metabolizes gradually, so no sugar spike and crash. It also qualifies as a serving of fruit nutritionally. It's not ice cream, but it's pretty good, pretty healthy, pretty refreshing. We LIKE our customers and want to see them healthy and enjoying LIFE for years to come. On a personal note, I know your guy prefers Chocolate. How does he like sugar free Chocolate pudding? Maybe get a lot of the enjoyment and little consequences. LOL..........he hates anything sugar free, and he can spot that all the time. I have tried to switch all kinds of things he craves with the sugar free varieties of, and I end up throwing them out. He'd not stupid when it comes to the true flavor, just stupid in his diet choices, lol. Oh man he would never eat a smoothie! A thick chocolate shake, now that is more up his alley. I do make smoothies at home and he won't even try one. Thanks BD for offering alternatives though..........they just wouldn't pass with him. M

I make them @ home a lot. I use 1/2 banana, 1 c. of some kind of berry (I vary) 1 scoop of protein & 1/3 c. of yougurt plain or vanilla. If it's too thick, I add milk, juice or water to it. My fav. splash of juice is Minute Maids Pom/blueberry.

Too bad if he won't even try a smoothie. I kind of had a bad attitude towards them just because of some mental block. They sounded a little too yuppie or west coast for my tastes. Then I tried them.....I was WRONG. They are good, refreshing, cool, healthy. There is not much down side to them(other than a little expensive). Ours use real fruit puree, it's NOT some cheap snow cone syrup. I first tried one when our supplier did a demo for us. He made up a strawberry smoothie for me and I was floored. I don't even LIKE strawberry, but this one was a winner. For those that may have not tried them, they use fruit and some yogurt powder for creaminess and finely crushed ice like a slushy or a Mr. Misty, but not with the cheap high fructose corn syrup or sugary flavorings. Sure, you get us primed AFTER you friggin CLOSE FOR THE SEASON.................. I demand you open for a day to pay penance for your sin...... what day shall we arrive for our smoothies?
