Have any of the kids received their blessing in a back pack yet, at Northlawn?

First delivery of bags will be the week of September 15th. They will take their first bags home Friday September 19th.
We are still waiting on numbers from the schools and also we cannot put any food into our storage place until this weekend. There is no air there and it gets to hot to store food during the summer.
Please feel free to P.M. me if you know a child who should be on the program or has a sibling at home that needs to be added.

Thanks. I'll see if the person I'm thinking receives the bag first.

The public(taxpayer) feeds them breakfast, snack, lunch and afternoon snack at school . Then provides food stamps, housing, medical, school supplies, coats, free schooling, junior college, and aides because the spawn cannot function at half their expected level. These people should not reproduce!! Keep their knees together or sterilize them, but do not borrow money from china to raise them.

I think that is pretty presumptuous of you Slicker, just because a family is considered 'low income' doesn't mean that their income is low enough to receive financial help from the government. Also, it isn't the childs fault that they were born into a crappy situation, so why punish them by making the child go hungry?

I know one family where both parents worked, had insurance through their workplace, and one of the parent had a heart attack and pasted away. But the other parent remained working, but needed the assistant and did receive assistant. Not all of the people want to live on public aid. But at times just need that little extra help. Plus this year at the school all income level has free breakfast and lunch. And that was through a grant that the school district applied for and was granted.

Does the list rollover from last year? Or do the kids have to be re-added every year?

its a great service you do for the community.........thank you and all the others Wilbert. Thanks Dive, you are too kind. We could not do it without the donors and the volunteers. It really is a community effort and we have a great community. It takes a village to raise just one child and we have an awesome village. Ann Onymous and emachine you hit the nail on the head with your posts. Even parents with two jobs sometimes can't make ends meet, yet they don't qualify for food assistance. At the end of the day, no child should go hungry. Does it really matter why they are? If we can help stop their hunger, we should. I think our slogan says it all...... "We are feeding the future of America, one child at a time."

Children have no control over the situations they find themselves born into. There are many reasons for the need these children experience, but they can be positively impacted by being shown consideration by caring folks. Both, better physical health, & a better attitude toward society.

Does the list rollover from last year? Or do the kids have to be re-added every year? Any child eligible for the reduced/free breakfast and lunch program is eligible to receive a bag from Blessings. If you know a child who would like a bag and doesn't get one and is on the reduced/free food program, please contact your principal or me to make sure they are added to the list.

It is a great city of section 8 and tornado looters. Do not compare these deadbeats to the hard workers of yesteryear!, their spawn will only want more entitlements.

Are you including Woodland this year? Helencrump I have reached out to Woodland numerous times. The principal never returned my calls or emails. Ransom was the same way. So the answer would be no BUT we would gladly include both schools if they would accept the program. In fact, a church in Pontiac use to supply bags for Woodland. They stopped last school season and I was asked by an employee at St. Mary's if we could take over. That person spoke to the Woodland principal and gave them our info. I emailed and called but never got a response. We serve Northlawn, Kimes, Centennial, Sherman and Grand Ridge Schools.
