I have heard many people criticize the E.R. at St. Mary's, so I figured I would put forth my 2 cents. I had the misfortune of gashing my leg open to the muscle this afternoon, I don't think things could have been handle any more professional or pleasantly. After registering and presenting the proper information I only had a 15 or 20 minute wait before being attended to. I was headed back home 90 minutes later, within that time my wound was first numbed (ouch) worst part of stitches, then thoroughly clean, I was given a tetanus shot, and an antibiotic I.V. was started (30 min. to finish), a drain was inserted and I was stitched up and on my way home. Everyone was very nice and professional, maybe I was just lucky but I always seem to have good experiences there, all things considered. So kudos to the E.R. staff that was working this afternoon......Thank you.......

Sliced the side of my thumb off a few years ago.. Went to ER with my pieces. Sewed back on in 45 minutes and out the door. (I did chew the $800 thumb jerky off.) Very fast treatment.Kudos to our ER !!

Have been there several times with kids for several reasons. some faster than others. the one that pissed me off was waiting in a room for almost three hours and most of that time the dr was sitting at the desk with nurses just shooting the breeze.... grrrrr. Obviously there wasn't a more critical injury/illness being taken care of that time.

People with a Medical card are at the end of the line, they make money with people who have insurance first. The state only pays not even half of the persons bill, and this came from a Dr I know.

Healthcare shouldn't be an issue in the 1st place. You cannot put a price on human life. Human life is priceless. And no dr should have the right to play GOD and decides who lives or who dies. Only GOD has that power to determine your fate. LIFE IS A GIFT FROM GOD AND NO HUMAN BEING HAS THE RIGHT TO KILL YOU OFF BASED ON WHETHER YOU CAN PAY OR NOT!

In most people's eye's, the all mighty dollar is more important than life. And without the right type of insurance and having money speaks louder than a person's life. But at the same time how is the doctors, nurses, and cost of electricity suppose to get paid without those all mighty dollar. Nothing in life is free.

You always have your hand out. Then in another thread you will be barking about taxes going up. You do understand if you want free health care, free medicine, free groceries, etc. That the government has to pay for you since you can't takebcare of yourself? And, by the way, the government is everyone. I'm tired of carrying people who can work, but chose not to. I say no insurance then go to the back of the line. I work hard and i have insurance. Its like you're a kid and I have to ask you if you think money grows on trees.

My Daughter went in with Abdominal pain. ER (St Mary's) checked her out and she evidently had burst appendix, perhaps during exam itself. That's a very critical condition, sometimes fatal. She was a sick little girl, but the Staff at St. Mary's did a great job. Same thing happened to me when I was a kid. They saved my life. They (St. Mary's) re-attached my thumb when it was cut off, among other injuries that they helped with. ONE doctor in the ER is worthless and a complete scumbag. I don't know his name. I wouldn't say it if I did know it, but my experiences with him have all been horrible. And the nurses hate him to, based on what I've seen. The best ER doc they have is a wonderful red headed woman. I don't know her name either but she is awesome. Especially with kids.

Is that worthless scumbag you're referring to, think he's a sports medicine type doc?
